With so many new reveals and leaks targeting the Xbox Series X, players on the Xbox One are likely wondering what experiences they can hope to enjoy on the console as it slowly but surely wraps up its lifespan. While fans know they can expect to get their hands on Cyberpunk 2077 later this year, many are likely wondering what other core Xbox games will be keeping them occupied while Microsoft work on bringing the Series X to its player base.

As it turns out, a pair of new releases will allegedly be hitting the store next week, with both Xbox One games receiving premature listings on the Xbox Marketplace ahead of their release. The games both come from Devolver Digital, with the incredibly popular indie publisher seemingly looking to port two of its bigger recent releases to Microsoft's flagship console.

The first of these two games is The Messenger, which originally dropped in August 2018 for PC. The title is an action platformer in which the player takes on the role of a ninja defending his village against a demonic army, with time-traveling elements and a host of other crazy genre subversions following suit. The game found substantial acclaim when it dropped a few years back, landing an 83 on Metacritic due to its intricate platforming, charming visual style, and well thought out action.

The second title is Observation, which has garnered something of a cult following since its release. The game is best described as a puzzle-based sci-fi thriller, putting players in the role of an AI controlling a large spaceship as they uncover the mystery of what happened to the craft's occupants. It pulled a respectable 79 on Metacritic upon release, with players since heralding it as something of an underrated gem, with its concept doing something very few other games have ever tried. Critics were quick to celebrate the refreshing change of pace it offered, however, some did comment that the experience could be somewhat shallow.

It seems both games will be available on June 25, which happens to fall next Thursday. With both games standing as some of Devolver's most notable games of the last few years, it's clear these pair of games are an absolute win for Xbox One players. As for what Devolver Digital fans can expect going forward, the team is currently prepping a new battle royale type game with a twist called Fall Guys, while they're also working on a fourth Serious Sam game and a Western RPG called Weird West.
