The CEO of Microsoft Gaming presumably has a very packed schedule leading a huge gaming division, especially in the months following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, the biggest merger in the industry to date. However, that hasn’t stopped the gamer from getting in quite a bit of play time.
Every December, gamers can view their stats for the year via the PlayStation Wrap-Up and Xbox Year in Review. It can be exciting, and sometimes surprising, to see a summary of the number of games played, the game most played, total hours played, and the number of achievements or trophies unlocked, and social media often becomes filled with people sharing their PlayStation and Xbox statistics.

Phil Spencer is no exception and recently shared his Xbox Year in Review summary, which showed that he played 917 hours total in 2023, spread across an incredible 82 games. Not surprisingly, Spencer’s most-played game is Starfield with 148 hours played, followed closely by Diablo 4 and Pillars of Eternity. Back in August, the Xbox CEO revealed that he had already completed 15 playthroughs of Starfield and logged over 200 hours, though that was before the game officially launched in September. That means that, overall, Spencer probably has clocked closer to 350 total hours played in Starfield.

Spencer’s official numbers for Starfield, Diablo 4, and Pillars of Eternity pale in comparison to his statistics from 2022, when the Head of Xbox hit 233 hours played in Vampire Survivors. Spencer is known to be an avid gamer, and fellow Xbox enthusiasts occasionally run into him in multiplayer games, recognizing P3 as his Xbox Gamertag. Despite this, the CEO has revealed that he only manages to play about 15 hours a week, or one to two hours per day, which seems like a good number for a busy executive.
On social media, he occasionally discusses the games he’s currently enjoying, and Spencer recently shared an image of his Diablo 4 Druid after it reached level 100, a feat that requires approximately 150 hours to accomplish. Other games he’s tweeted about this year are Bramble: The Mountain King, Ravenlok, Planet of Lana, and Dredge. Spencer has also been vocal about his appreciation for the ASUS ROG Ally, the handheld gaming device that he’s referred to as an “extension of [his] Xbox console.”
