  • Super Mega Baseball 4 is a highly-rated arcade baseball game that baseball fans should check out.
  • We Happy Few, developed by Xbox-owned studio Compulsion Games, is back on Xbox Game Pass.

The latest update for the Ultimate tier of Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service has added two more games for subscribers to check out. While most of the new Xbox Game Pass games in any given month are available to all tiers above Xbox Game Pass Core, there are occasionally games that skip vanilla Game Pass in favor of PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The vast majority of the time, these Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass-only games are titles that have technically been added to EA Play. EA Play is one of the perks of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, so anyone willing to pony up the extra cash for the higher tier of the service gets access to any of the new EA Play games in addition to the fresh Xbox Game Pass additions.

For those unfamiliar with the new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate games, Super Mega Baseball 4 is an arcadey baseball game that released in 2023 to mostly positive reviews. In general, the Super Mega Baseball games have been pretty consistent, often earning high marks and finding themselves as some of the higher-rated sports game released in any given year. Baseball fans that have yet to check out the latest installment should definitely make a plan to do so now that Super Mega Baseball 4 is readily available to play through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

We Happy Few, meanwhile, is a bit of an odd duck as it was developed by Xbox-owned studio Compulsion Games, yet was previously removed from Xbox Game Pass. One has to imagine that We Happy Few is here to stay now, but that remains to be seen. We Happy Few takes some inspiration from BioShock with its presentation, but it features some roguelike and survival game mechanics to mix things up. We Happy Few earned mixed reviews when it first launched, but Game Pass subscribers are still encouraged to check it out. After all, they can play through the entire game without paying anything beyond their normal Game Pass fee, so it doesn't hurt to give it a go.
