WWE 2K23 and two more titles are free for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members over the first extended weekend in August 2023. This newest perk of Microsoft's subscription service was announced just as A Short Hike joined the Xbox Game Pass catalog.
While the ever-growing library of on-demand titles is by far the biggest value proposition of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the top tier of the subscription service also comes with many other perks. One of those added benefits comes in the form of recurring promotional periods called Free Play Days which allow subscribers to play a variety of paid titles that they don't own over a four-day period typically running from Thursday through Sunday. The last such promo encompassed Deceive Inc., Disney Speedstorm, For Honor, and Tropico 6.
Meanwhile, the newly started iteration of Free Play Days includes Descenders, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and WWE 2K23. That trio of titles is available for free to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold subscribers until Sunday, August 6, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Seeing how WWE 2K23 only launched to positive reviews back in March, this wrestling simulation is by far the newest release of the lot, while Bandai Namco's 2.5D fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ and No More Robots' biking roguelike Descenders both happen to be 2018 releases.

All three games are available on both PC and Xbox consoles, as is customary for Free Play Days titles. Another thing keeping with the tradition of this recurring promotion comes in the form of some generous sales that Microsoft is presently running on the featured titles, with the largest one of them being the 85% discount on the FighterZ Edition of Dragon Ball FighterZ, which can currently be purchased at $14.24. Meanwhile, Descenders and WWE 2K23 are now retailing at $7.49 and $38.49, respectively. As per usual, these discounts will be available for the duration of the free-to-play weekend.
This newly announced edition of Free Play Days isn't the only time-limited benefit that's currently live for Microsoft's subscribers, as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members also have three free games to claim right now. One of those offers will expire on August 15, while the other two are good until August 31.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who are short on time and don't have a particular interest in any of the latest Free Play Days titles may instead want to spend their weekend playing Death Stranding. Namely, Hideo Kojima's unique action-adventure is one of four games that Xbox Game Pass is losing on August 15.
