Updated 7/21: Ubisoft has since claimed that Far Cry 6 is not coming to Xbox Game Pass after all.

Original story follows.

It seems Ubisoft has made plenty of deals, so to speak, to get its games on services like PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass. Several Ubisoft games have been added to both services, with the recent PS Plus Extra game releases including several Assassin’s Creed titles. Watch Dogs 2 was even recently added to Xbox Game Pass.

Now, it seems a new leak via Xbox Game Pass itself could hint at another Ubisoft title coming to the service. It should be noted that, while Xbox Game Pass leaks are not necessarily uncommon, there have been plenty that seemed official but did not prove to be true. The rumors and leaks of Resident Evil Village coming to Xbox Game Pass, for example, were disproven shortly after they began.

According to a banner from Xbox Game Pass, Far Cry 6 could be coming to the service soon. An advertisement banner for the service, showing other games on Xbox Game Pass like Sniper Elite, Naraka, and AC Origin, also shows Far Cry 6. Now, this could be a mistake, although not a simple one, with Game Pass accidentally showing FC6 instead of Far Cry 5.

Far Cry 5, as many subscribers may know, is already on the Game Pass service—so are the other shown games. It makes sense if it were a mistake. However, it could be that and a slip-up indicating Far Cry 6 could be coming to the service soon. The former was just recently added, though, but it’s clear more Ubisoft games are likely to hit the service no matter what.

Plus, Far Cry 6 has been out long enough that it would be a prime contender for the service still. It all remains to be seen, of course, but fans still have plenty of games to look forward to. As Dusk Falls and Watch Dogs 2 were just added to Xbox Game Pass, with Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, MotoGP22, and Torment: Tides of Numenera joining on July 21 and Inside joining on July 29.

It does seem odd that there are no additions currently slated for between July 21 and July 29, so knowing Xbox Game Pass, some surprise additions would not be out of place. It’s unlikely one of those are Far Cry 6, but with the service, there’s really no telling.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers get a handful of games every month.
