It's been a pretty decent year for Xbox Game Pass so far with plenty of day-one launches and third-party support, but things are only going to get better. While the last few months have been dominated by discourse surrounding Xbox, and more specifically Game Pass and its perceived success or alleged lack thereof, the recent Xbox Showcase has proven that Microsoft is still putting all of its eggs in the Game Pass basket, confirming a total of 18 new games that are all set to hit the service on day one.

From gigantic first-party titles like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Fable, and the newly announced Gears of War: E-Day, to smaller-scale experiences like Winter Burrow and Mixtape, the Xbox Showcase just confirmed that a vast array of games from a variety of different genres will be hitting Xbox Game Pass over the next year or so. The future has genuinely never looked so bright for Xbox Game Pass.

Of the 18 games that were confirmed for Xbox Game Pass during the recent Xbox Showcase, a total of seven were given a 2024 release date. The long-awaited STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl looks set to make its September 2024 release date, with the Ukrainian development team having literally fought wars to create the game. Age of Mythology Retold looks as though it's shaping up to be an exciting remake of a beloved RTS classic. Flight Simulator 2024 looks like it's going to be a graphical powerhouse just like its predecessor.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 marks a monumental milestone for Xbox, being the first Call of Duty on Xbox Game Pass, and is arriving there on day one.

What's a little strange, however, is that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Avowed didn't receive concrete release dates. Though they're definitely coming to Xbox Game Pass on launch, Indiana Jones and Avowed are still just slated for 2024, despite there only being six months left in the year.

These games are incredibly diverse, ranging from huge AAA titles like Fable and Doom: The Dark Ages to much smaller, almost indie-level titles like Winter Burrow. These titles also run the gamut of video game genres, with first-person shooters, third-person adventure games, Soulslikes, and cozy survival games all being represented.

Xbox Game Pass Games With No Release Date

  • Gears of War: E-Day
  • State of Decay 3
  • Perfect Dark

By far some of the most exciting reveals from the Xbox Showcase, Gears of War: E-Day, State of Decay 3, and Perfect Dark were all announced and confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one, though neither has been given even a broad release window. It's probably safe to assume that these games are still at least a year off if not two.
