Shadow Warrior 3 ran at 60 FPS on Xbox Series S when playing the Xbox One version via backwards compatibility, but this feature was missing from the release of Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition. Fans should note that this 60 FPS performance mode on Xbox Series S comes in addition to the quality mode, so users can choose between the two graphics options depending upon their preference.

The new Shadow Warrior 3 update offers some other enhancements, such as improved visuals on Xbox consoles in all available modes. It makes minor performance improvements to the game on Xbox systems, before confirming that a couple of crashing issues have been fixed. Overall, it looks like an important update that will result in a smoother gameplay experience for Xbox Series S owners.

Originally released in 2022, Shadow Warrior 3 officially came out for current-generation consoles in February 2023. Shadow Warrior 3 was added to the Xbox Game Pass library on the same day, with games like Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, Cities: Skylines – Remastered, and Atomic Heart also coming out on the service in February 2023.

Shadow Warrior 3 is not the only game to receive a 60 FPS performance mode on Xbox Series S post release, as Dying Light 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 also added one as an update. It’ll be interesting to see if any more Xbox Series S titles will get 60 FPS modes in the future, as developers try to get more performance out of its hardware.
