Lies of P developer Neowiz took the stage at Summer Game Fest to show off more of the upcoming Soulslike, confirming its September 19 release date and announcing a demo for fans to try. This demo will focus on the early parts of the game and allow fans to acquaint themselves with Lies of P's Bloodborne-style gameplay.

For the uninitiated, Lies of P tells the story of puppet mechanoid Pinocchio as they search the dark city of Krat for Geppetto. Just like the classic, Pinocchio aims to become human and there is a truth-lie system involved in the game. It boasts procedural quests that depend on whether Pinocchio tells the truth or lies, with this affecting how the ending goes. It also features a weapon-making system, a special skill system that involves replacing body parts, and more to fully realize its Soulslike combat.

Lies of P is a day-one Xbox Game Pass title for September 19, but it is also available on PC and PlayStation platforms. So, too, is this demo. In it, players will be able to clear the first two chapters of the game. While it's just a taste of the game, fans will be able to encounter some of Lies of P's boss battles, key characters, and obviously various locations within the city of Krat. Fans will be able to check out this demo NOW, as it released during the showcase.

This demo is handy because it'll help players know whether they want to check it out at release. For Xbox Game Pass subscribers, this would come at no additional cost outside their subscription. And while this is a big reveal for Lies of P and Summer Game Fest, fans can expect more Xbox Game Pass news at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase.
