New Xbox Game Pass Games for March 19

  • Lightyear Frontier
  • MLB The Show 24

Tuesday, March 19 is going to be a big day for Xbox Game Pass thanks to the release of two brand-new, day one games. First is Lightyear Frontier, an open world farming game with a sci-fi twist. In Lightyear Frontier, players can team up with three other friends and use mechs to complete various farming tasks on an alien world. Lightyear Frontier will be releasing in early access when it hits Xbox Game Pass on March 19, so fans should keep that in mind, though early reactions to the game have been mostly positive.

The other day one game hitting Xbox Game Pass on March 19 is MLB The Show 24. MLB The Show 24 is the latest installment in the popular baseball sim series, developed by PlayStation-owned San Diego Studio. MLB The Show 24 being a first-party PlayStation game makes the fact that it's releasing for Xbox Game Pass on day one rather remarkable. The MLB The Show franchise has enjoyed consistently positive reviews, and so it should be an easy win for Game Pass come March 19.

New PS Plus Premium Games for March 19

PS Plus Premium subscribers will have 13 games to check out on March 19. Eight of the games will also be available to anyone signed up for PS Plus Extra, but five of them are exclusive to the Premium tier. As usual, anyone that wants to get the most out of their PlayStation Plus subscription will definitely want to make sure that they are signed up for Premium, so they can enjoy everything the service has to offer.

Extra and Premium Tiers

  • Blood Bowl 3
  • Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
  • LEGO DC Supervillains
  • Marvel’s Midnight Suns
  • Mystic Pillars: Remastered
  • NBA 2K24 Kobe Bryant Edition
  • Resident Evil 3 Remake
  • Super Neptunia RPG

There are multiple standout games when it comes to the new titles joining the Extra tier of the service on March 19. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a well-received action-RPG that retells the story of Dragon Ball Z, while LEGO DC Supervillains is a co-op game that lets players play as famous villains from the DC Comics universe. Marvel is getting some representation as well thanks to Marvel's Midnight Suns, an underrated turn-based tactics game featuring various Marvel superheroes.

NBA 2K24 is joining PS Plus on March 19 after having just recently debuted on Xbox Game Pass. It's already been announced that NBA 2K24 is leaving Xbox Game Pass on August 31, so it will be interesting to see how long the popular basketball game stays on PS Plus.

And finally, PS Plus Premium subscribers will definitely want to check out the Resident Evil 3 remake if they haven't already. The Resident Evil 3 remake wasn't nearly as well-received as the Resident Evil 2 remake, but it still offers a highly-polished survival-horror experience. It sees Jill Valentine come face to face with Nemesis, one of the most iconic monsters in the entire Resident Evil franchise, as she attempts to survive the hellish Raccoon City.

Premium Tier Only

  • Cool Boarders
  • Gods Eater Burst
  • Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure AllStar Battle R
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy

PS Plus Premium subscribers get access to all of the games coming to PS Plus Extra on March 19, plus the five games that are targeting the Premium tier specifically. This includes the classic snowboarding game Cool Boarders, the often-forgotten Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, which collects the original Phoenix Wright trilogy in a single package.

On top of all the new games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium on March 19, there's even more for PlayStation Plus subscribers to check out this month. There are the monthly free PS Plus games, of course, which have been available since the beginning of March, but there's also the chance to claim My Hero Academia Season 1 for free, plus the Blazin' Wheels Pack for Fortnite. PS Plus subscribers are getting their money's worth and then some when it comes to the March 2024 freebies, and it will be exciting to see how Sony follows up in April.
