Xbox Game Pass is hailed as one of the best values in gaming today, as its cheap monthly cost is offset by a huge library of games. Xbox Game Pass is removing some games at the end of October and does so every month, but it adds more than it takes away—at least it seems that way anyway. Unlike services such as Games with Gold or PS Plus, which only add new games once a month, Game Pass is the gift that keeps on giving.

Xbox Game Pass has announced 9 more games coming to the service between now and the end of the month. This is after it added two new games today, October 19: Outriders for PC and Into the Pit for Cloud, Console, and PC. The former is a looter shooter with an emphasis on aggressive playstyles with strong endgame content, while the latter is a fast-paced retro-FPS rogue-lite where players must rescue survivors in a cursed village overrun with dark magic.

On October 21, three games will be added. The first is Dragon Ball FighterZ (Cloud and Console), a 2.5D fighting game that beckons back to the earliest fighting games of the franchise. The second is Echo Generation (Cloud, Console, PC), a day one release where players must save their hometown from aliens, solve spooky mysteries, and unlock unique party skills in active turn-based combat. The third is for PC Players only and is a game preview of Everspace 2, a spaceship shooter focused on exploration, loot, RPG elements, mining, and crafting.

October 28 will see a total of six games added to Xbox Game Pass, including Age of Empires 4 for PC; Alan Wake’s American Nightmare for PC and Console; Backbone for Console; Bassmaster Fishing 2022 for PC, Cloud, and Console; Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition for PC, Cloud, and Console; and The Forgotten City for PC, Cloud, and Console.

  • October 21 Additions:
    • Dragon Ball FighterZ (Cloud and Console)
    • Echo Generation (Cloud, Console, and PC)
    • Everspace 2 Game Preview (PC)
  • October 28 Additions:
    • Age of Empires 4 (PC)
    • Alan Wake’s American Nightmare (PC, Console)
    • Backbone (Console)
    • Bassmaster Fishing 2022 (PC, Cloud, Console)
    • Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition (PC, Cloud, Console)
    • The Forgotten City (PC, Cloud, Console)

These six titles represent a little something for everyone. Age of Empires is a strong RTS game, American Nightmare is a must-play for horror fans this Halloween season, Backbone is a highly praised indie detective game, Bassmaster certainly has its audience if it’s not for everyone, Nongunz is a platformer roguelike with each run emerging from a graveyard (so yet another game for Halloween), and The Forgotten City is a time loop game originating from a mod in Skyrim.

Needless to say, there’s a little something for everyone in this Xbox Game Pass lineup, but horror/spooky fans are definitely getting treated well.
