Microsoft has yet again updated the selection of games available to its Xbox Game Pass subscribers, this time adding former PlayStation console exclusive puzzler Maquette. Xbox Game Pass subscribers know to expect new games on a regular basis, with Maquette just being the latest game added to the service this week.

This week has been a busy one for Xbox Game Pass. Not only did Microsoft announce plans to get rid of Xbox Live Gold and replace it with Xbox Game Pass Core, but it also recently added three more games to the service. On July 18, Microsoft updated the Xbox Game Pass library to include day one early access game Techtonica, photography game Toem, and adventure game The Cave. While subscribers are likely still busy checking out those titles, they now have yet another game to play with their subscription.

Maquette was first released in 2021 for PC, PS4, and PS5, and at the time, it was a PlayStation console exclusive game. Not only that, but Maquette launched as a day one PS Plus game, which were more frequent in the first year or so after the PlayStation 5's launch. Maquette's Xbox Game Pass debut is arguably as a day one game as well, as it's becoming available on Xbox the same day that it's being added to the Game Pass service.

While Maquette earned mixed reviews at the time of its release, the fact that it was once a PlayStation console exclusive game and a day one PS Plus title should still make it a significant "get" for Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass. It will be interesting to see how Xbox Game Pass subscribers react to Maquette, and if they come away more or less impressed compared to how PlayStation gamers reacted to the first-person puzzler back in the day.

The addition of Maquette is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to new Xbox Game Pass games this week. Besides Maquette and the previously mentioned trio of games that were already added this week, subscribers can also look forward to Figment 2: Creed Valley and The Wandering Village, both of which are scheduled to join the Xbox Game Pass lineup on July 20.

But while there are plenty of new Xbox Game Pass additions for July 2023, games are being removed from the service this month as well. Microsoft recently confirmed five games leaving Xbox Game Pass on July 31, so fans may want to prioritize playing those over checking out the new releases.
