Beethoven & Dinosaur and Annapurna Interactive are working on Mixtape, an indie game and Game Pass title about the various changes and milestones that are bound to happen during one's teenage years. Microsoft held the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9, and it was a wild ride from the start to the very end. From DLC announcements to brand-new gameplay footage, the event had it all, with the showcase targeting all kinds of fans, as it featured games for players of just about any genre.
Many Game Pass fans had been on top of the Xbox Showcase leaks, but they also had their own predictions. While some of the speculations, like an update on the upcoming State of Decay game, turned out to be true, there were also some unexpected games that surprised avid gamers, especially whenever "World Premiere" would appear on-screen before a trailer.

The third entry in the State of Decay franchise gets an official update after extended silence since the initial announcement.
Fans of the narrative game genre should take note of Mixtape, one of the World Premiere trailers shown during the live event. The game is being developed by Beethoven & Dinosaur, which is also responsible for creating The Artful Escape, an award-winning indie game. Mixtape explores the theme of entering your teen years and coming face-to-face with hardship as well as unique moments that you can't return to. The official page puts the game into simple words that describe its energy perfectly: "Skate. Party. Avoid the law. Make out. Sneak out. Hang out."
The trailer and the game's name made it clear that music will be one of the most important aspects of Mixtape. There is no doubt that Mixtape will evoke feelings of nostalgia and wholesomeness in its players, through its narrative and environment as well as epic tracks from artists and bands, such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Iggy Pop, and Joy Divison.
Mixtape Releases in 2025 on Xbox Game Pass
Annapurna Interactive is working with Beethoven Dinosaur to publish Mixtape. The video game publisher has helped some of the greatest indie games take their first steps and make it out into the world. Many gamers will likely be familiar with some of the games that Annapurna Interactive has published, including Stray, Outer Wilds, What Remains of Edith Finch, and several other award-winning indie titles that have received outstanding accolades.
Mixtape's exact release date is currently unknown, but its launch is scheduled for 2025. Gamers who are interested in trying out Mixtape once it's available will be able to download it and play it day one with Game Pass for Xbox and PC.
