Xbox Game Pass has added Little Kitty, Big City to its ever-expanding content catalog. This is the first day-one release to reach Microsoft's subscription service in May 2024, as well as the third overall addition to Xbox Game Pass since the turn of the month.
The debut game from the Bellevue, Washington-based Double Dagger Studio, Little Kitty, Big City was originally unveiled in late 2021 as part of the annual Wholesome Games showcase. Much like its straightforward name implies, the game stars a young cat lost in a large metropolis, with the player being tasked to guide the furry protagonist home.

The second title to reach Xbox Game Pass in May 2024 is a moody adventure game with 'Mostly Positive' Steam reviews and a 79 Metacritic Metascore.
After four years of development, Little Kitty, Big City hit the market on May 9, launching for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Microsoft has also managed to secure it as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass, with this being the first launch-day title to reach the service in May 2024. Aside from being available across all contemporary platforms in the company's gaming ecosystem, Little Kitty, Big City is also an Xbox Play Anywhere game, meaning it supports seamless progression across multiple systems.

While the goal of the game is to find one's way home, that journey will be all but straightforward, not least because Little Kitty, Big City boasts a sprawling open world with plenty of things to do and places to be. Its list of potential activities includes meeting and befriending a wide variety of animal characters, some of whom will act as quest-givers. Another big feature is customization, with players being able to collect a huge assortment of hats, each more adorable than the next, that the protagonist can wear. While the game's premise may seem like Stray in a non-dystopian setting, Little Kitty, Big City also appears to lean into Untitled Goose Game-like sandbox shenanigans.
At least two more day-one releases are set to hit Xbox Game Pass in the second half of the month. The first of those is Ninja Theory's action adventure Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, which is coming to the popular subscription service on May 21. Moonloop Games' stylish twin-stick shooter Hauntii will then follow suit two days later.
Before either of those titles become available to Microsoft's subscribers, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons will reach Xbox Game Pass next Tuesday, May 14. Around that time is when Microsoft is expected to announce the second wave of this month's additions to the service. May 2024 has so far been a fairly quiet month for Xbox Game Pass by its own release pace standards, so the wave-two lineup may end up being much more stacked than the one that preceded it.
