Two more games are now available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers: Rune Factory 4 Special and Stacking. These are just a couple of the games added to Xbox Games Pass in June 2023, and at least one more, Dordogne, is expected to join the bunch on June 13.

Microsoft updates the lineup of games available on its subscription service throughout the month, both adding and removing titles, usually with a discount on the games that are leaving for anybody who wasn’t quite finished playing. Other titles that became available on Xbox Game Pass in June are Amnesia: The Bunker, which was added as a day-one release, Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath - Vengeance of the Slayer, The Big Con, and Hypnospace Outlaw.

The enhanced version of the fantasy-based role-playing farming sim that originally released as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive in 2013, Neverland’s Rune Factory 4 Special joined the Xbox Game Pass catalog on June 8. After getting a Switch release in 2020, Rune Factory 4 Special launched for Xbox One, PS4, and PC in 2021. In terms of sales, the game is one of the most successful of the mainline series, surpassed only by its 2022 follow-up, Rune Factory 5.

New Xbox Game Pass Games for June 8

  • Rune Factory 4 Special (Console, Cloud, PC)
  • Stacking (Console, Cloud)

Rune Factory 4 Special introduces a few upgrades from the original 3DS version of the game, not the least of which are the HD graphics. There have also been a number of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes, as well as additional movies, two DLCs, and a Newlywed Mode that lets players experience a short but special scenario with their in-game spouse.

The second title for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to check out on June 8 is Stacking, an adventure puzzle game that originally came out in 2011 on Xbox 360 and PS3. Developed by Double Fine, which has since been acquired by Microsoft, Stacking takes the concept of Russian matryoshka nesting dolls and turns it into a game set during a fictional industrial age. Players take control of the smallest doll and must strategically stack and unstack into larger dolls to solve puzzles and free their family from the evil Baron.

On June 13, Xbox Game Pass members will gain access to another day-one launch title, a narrative adventure called Dordogne that features a stunning watercolor-painted art style. Set in the French countryside, it will let players journey along with Mimi as she digs through lost memories, relives her childhood, and uncovers family secrets.
