On January 3, Xbox Game Pass revealed the various games coming in the first half of January, adding Close to the Sun in the process and confirming Hell Let Loose for January 4. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to download and claim the game today for PC, Cloud, and Xbox Series X/S.

Although more are on the horizon, Hell Let Loose is a rather significant pick-up for Xbox Game Pass. It may not have the brand identity of something like Call of Duty, but it is a super solid World War II game with plenty for history buffs, FPS fans, and so forth to enjoy. If someone hasn't played it, there really hasn't been a better time.

Xbox Game Pass Leak Suggests 2 Classic Games Are Coming to the Service

Xbox Game Pass seems to be receiving two legendary single-player games soon, based on notifications that some users are receiving.

Hell Let Loose is both a FPS and simulation strategy game, focused on realistic warfare. Players can engage each other in various game modes like Offensive and Warfare, play on maps such as Omaha Beach, and play and master one of several roles that alter gameplay significantly from Medic to Commander. The strategy element comes in on the latter Hell Let Loose role, who must coordinate, issue commands, and otherwise lead the team to victory using a tactical map and a handful of abilities. Players are also able to take control of WW2 tanks and other vehicles, which are as frightening as a tank should be. All in all, it's hard to describe everything that goes into Hell Let Loose, and it's something better experienced than explained.

Every Xbox Game Pass Game Confirmed for January 2024 So Far

  • Hell Let Loose - January 4
  • Assassin's Creed Valhalla - January 9
  • Figment - January 9
  • Super Mega Baseball 4 - January 11 (Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play)
  • We Happy Few - January 11
  • Resident Evil 2 - January 16
  • Those Who Remain - January 16
  • Turnip Boy Robs a Bank - January 18
  • Go Mecha Ball - January 25

Of course, military shooters are not for everyone, and Xbox Game Pass isn't in the business of being a one-trick pony. Players can get a massive open-world RPG in Assassin's Creed Valhalla or a surreal action-adventure game in Figment on January 9, an over-the-top sports game in Super Mega Baseball 4 or a BioShock-like adventure in We Happy Few, or two different types of horror games on January 16. Beyond that, there are still games like Turnip Boy Robs a Bank and Go Mecha Ball coming to Xbox Game Pass, while more will no doubt added later this month.

Until then, it's a pretty good start of the year. Hopefully, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can check out a few games before the various new video game releases for January 2024 kick off in full.
