It will be a couple of weeks before Microsoft officially showcases all the new Xbox Game Pass games for January 2024, but release date announcements like this have given fans a sneak preview of what to expect in the new year.
So far, two day one games have been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in January 2024. Preceding Go Mecha Ball's debut on Xbox Game Pass is Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, joining on January 15. Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is a top-down 2D roguelite game that takes some inspiration from classic Legend of Zelda titles. The original Turnip Boy was once featured on Xbox Game Pass, so it's only fitting that Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is making its debut on the service as a day one game.

Go Mecha Ball is now the second day one game confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in January 2024, set to join the lineup on January 25. Go Mecha Ball is a twin-stick shooter with roguelike elements, so it and Turnip Boy may appeal to a similar crowd. The game features some platforming elements as well, and based on what's been shown so far, it definitely has a lot of potential. Anyone curious about Go Mecha Ball can try it through their Xbox Game Pass subscription beginning January 25, 2024.
Go Mecha Ball and Turnip Boy Robs a Bank aren't the only 2024 Xbox Game Pass games with solid release dates. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also count on Persona 3 Reload joining Xbox Game Pass on February 2, while Open Roads is coming on February 22. There's also Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and Manor Lords, which are scheduled to join Game Pass on April 23 and April 26, respectively.
Some Xbox Game Pass games for 2024 don't have specific release dates yet, but do have vague release windows to keep in mind, like Lightyear Frontier coming March 2024. STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, meanwhile, is aiming for a Q1 2024 release, as are games like Soulslike Another Crab's Treasure, Harold Halibut, and Still Wakes the Deep.
Some of the biggest new Xbox Game Pass for 2024 are completely without release information at the time of this writing beyond that they are coming next year. Obsidian's Avowed and Ninja Theory's Hellblade 2 fall in that category, but more information on those games should come to light in the months ahead.
