Ubisoft seems to be all in with Sony and Xbox's subscription services, with the third-party publisher consistently having games join the service with many more on the way for each. This is exciting for many fans, as for example, it seems every Assassin's Creed game could be on PS Plus someday.
In the meantime, a ton of Ubisoft games are being added to each from a variety of franchises. Ghost Recon Wildlands is the latest for each, but it may not be the last. According to recent rumors, the AC Odyssey-inspired title Immortals Fenyx Rising could be coming to Xbox Game Pass in August 2022.
Immortals Fenyx Rising + Xbox Game Pass
Last month, leaker Aggiornamenti Lumia potentially suggested Immortals Fenyx Rising would hit PC Game Pass at some point, though no date was attached. They are rather reliable when it comes to Microsoft Store leaks, so it's not just a regular run-of-the-mill rumor. They also suggested it would just be PC, likely meaning it could release on Cloud and Console too.
Since then, this rumor mill has been rather quiet until known Xbox account Idle Sloth shared an image showing Immortals Fenyx Rising on Xbox Game Pass. It says the game will be added on August 30, and if this is true, fans can expect Microsoft to announce it sometime this week. It's likely to be tomorrow, August 16, based on Microsoft's typical reveal pattern for the subscription service.
At the same time, fans should be aware this could be a mistake. After all, just last month, an Xbox Ad listed Far Cry 6 as coming to Xbox Game Pass, but Ubisoft was quick to dismiss these rumors as a mistake. It happens. It hasn't dismissed these, though, but there could be a variety of reasons for that. Either way, fans will likely know soon, and it would be good timing for Immortals to join the service.
Recent weeks have seen other rumors crop up regarding a sequel/spin-off to Immortals, suggesting Ubisoft will take the franchise to a new Polynesian setting. This is exciting, given how successful the original proved to be, but it should be noted that this is said to be in early development. That means fans shouldn't expect to see it at the coming Ubisoft Forward, but still, getting to play Immortals Fenyx Rising on Game Pass would go a long way in continuing the game's success story before the sequel releases.
