MLB The Show 24, a baseball game developed by PlayStation's San Diego Studio, is coming to Xbox Game Pass on the very day of its release, March 19. MLB The Show was once a PlayStation-exclusive franchise, but it has since branched out to other platforms.
The MLB The Show franchise was PlayStation exclusive for a whopping 15 years. MLB The Show 21 was the first to release on Xbox, and it was also the first to be made available through Xbox Game Pass as a day one game. This is a tradition that has continued ever since, with MLB The Show 22, MLB The Show 23, and now MLB The Show 24 all releasing as day one Xbox Game Pass games despite being made by a PlayStation-owned studio.
Xbox Game Pass Game Gets Big Free Upgrade
An underrated Xbox Game Pass game is getting a massive free upgrade as part of a recent update that went live just earlier today.
MLB The Show 24 recently revealed its cover athlete to be Vladimir Guerrero Jr of the Toronto Blue Jays, while also confirming its March 19 release date. MLB The Show fans were also treated to a reveal roadmap. The Collector's Edition will be unveiled on February 16, while new features will be shown off on February 15 and February 22. MLB The Show 24 player ratings will be revealed on March 7, with yet another feature debuting that same day. A Developer tournament will take place on Twitch and YouTube come March 13, with the final feature premiere coming on March 14. All of this will lead up to MLB The Show 24's March 19 launch day, at which point it will be available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and of course, Xbox Game Pass.
MLB The Show 24 Reveal Schedule
With MLB The Show 24's release date right around the corner, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can unfortunately expect MLB The Show 23 to leave the subscription service at some point in the near future. In the past, a new MLB The Show game joining Xbox Game Pass has meant that the previous year's edition was getting the boot, and so it's safe to say that history will repeat itself. Needless to say, anyone interested in playing MLB The Show 23 through their Game Pass subscription should be sure to do so while they still can.
MLB The Show 24 isn't the only new Xbox Game Pass game coming in March. Day one Xbox Game Pass game Open Roads was recently delayed from its planned February 22 release date to March 28. Lightyear Frontier is also planned for a March 2024 Game Pass release, though a specific release date has yet to be announced.
