Microsoft tends to spread out its new Xbox Game Pass additions throughout every month, so that way there is consistently something new for subscribers to play. March 2022 is no different, with Microsoft having already added day one game Far: Changing Tides to Xbox Game Pass along with the cloud version of Microsoft Flight Simulator on March 1, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 hitting Game Pass on March 3.

March 2022 is off to a great start, but there's plenty more for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to look forward to later in the month as well. It seems that one of the biggest days for Xbox Game Pass in March will be Thursday, March 10, however, as that's the day that the service will be getting some rather notable new additions.

New Xbox Game Pass Games for March 2022

  • Crusader Kings 3 - March 29

Starting Thursday, March 10, Xbox Game Pass subscribers across PC, console, and the cloud can check out Kentucky Route Zero. For the uninitiated, Kentucky Route Zero is a point-and-click episodic adventure game consisting of five acts that were released between 2013 and 2020. The version of Kentucky Route Zero hitting Xbox Game Pass on March 10 will let subscribers experience the whole story from start to finish, which should be exciting for anyone that hasn't played it before.

Kentucky Route Zero has earned widespread critical acclaim, taking home numerous awards and generally being considered one of the best games in its genre. It may not be a brand-new, day one release, but Kentucky Route Zero's many accolades will ensure that it's still a significant addition to the Xbox Game Pass lineup.

That same day, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also check out the Xbox One version of Lawn Mowing Simulator. The Xbox Series X version of Lawn Mowing Simulator has been available to play through Xbox Game Pass for quite some time, but now those who have yet to upgrade to Microsoft's new console can check it out for themselves. The Xbox One version of Lawn Mowing Simulator was originally supposed to come to Xbox Game Pass in February, so it's great to see it finally join the lineup.

Lawn Mowing Simulator is a quirky game that has its fans and Kentucky Route Zero will likely find a sizable new audience when it hits Xbox Game Pass, but perhaps the highest profile game joining the lineup on March 10 is Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. The Guardians of the Galaxy video game from Eidos Montreal and Square Enix released last year to mostly positive reviews, and it even won the award for Best Narrative at The Game Awards 2021.

Despite the Guardians of the Galaxy game getting strong reviews from critics, the game has struggled sales-wise. This may dash one's hopes of seeing a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, but maybe it can expand its horizons through Xbox Game Pass. One has to imagine that Guardians of the Galaxy will be a hot-ticket game when it hits Game Pass on March 10, especially since the game is only about five months old at this point, and that could in turn create enough new players to justify pursuing a sequel.

And finally, the fourth game coming to Xbox Game Pass on March 10 is a day one release in the form of Young Souls, a co-op beat 'em up that was previously a Stadia exclusive. Young Souls earned mostly positive reviews when it released on Stadia, so it should prove to be another strong addition to the Xbox Game Pass lineup when it's added to the mix next Thursday, March 10.

While March 10 is set to be one of the biggest days for Xbox Game Pass in all of March, there's plenty more for fans to look forward to in the second half of the month as well. In fact, there are four more day one games confirmed for March 2022 that are coming in the days after March 10. Snowboarding game Shredders will join Xbox Game Pass starting March 17, while narrative-driven game A Memoir Blue releases March 24. Then on March 29, the console version of the critically-acclaimed Crusader Kings 3 joins Xbox Game Pass, followed by action-RPG Weird West on March 31.
