Microsoft has officially confirmed six more Xbox Game Pass games that are coming to the service within the next couple of weeks. Today has proven to be a rather exciting one for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as Microsoft not only revealed the games coming in the first half of July 2023, but it also surprised fans with the addition of one of the highest-rated video games ever made.

The latest Xbox Game Pass lineup update has added two more games for subscribers to check out. As of now, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can try Sword and Fairy: Together Forever across Xbox consoles, the cloud, and PC, while Grand Theft Auto 5 is available through the cloud and consoles. Sword and Fairy: Together Forever was announced in advance, but Grand Theft Auto 5 was a huge surprise new addition to the Xbox Game Pass library.

Grand Theft Auto 5 may be getting most of the attention from Xbox Game Pass subscribers, but fans should keep an eye out for the six other games set to join the service in the next couple of weeks. This includes McPixel 3 on July 6, available through the cloud, consoles, and PC, as well as Common'hood and the PC version of Insurgency: Sandstorm, which are set to drop on July 11. On July 14, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to playing day one game Exoprimal, with Techtonica coming day one to Game Pass as an early access title on July 18. And finally, The Cave is coming to Xbox Game Pass on July 18.

New Xbox Game Pass Games for July 2023

  • Grand Theft Auto 5 (Cloud/Consoles/PC) - Available now
  • McPixel 3 (Cloud/Consoles/PC) - July 6
  • Common'hood (Cloud/Consoles/PC) - July 11

  • Exoprimal (Cloud/Consoles/PC) - July 14

Out of these games, Exoprimal is arguably the headliner. A brand-new IP from Capcom, Exoprimal is an experimental PvEvP shooter game where players compete against each other to complete objectives and kill massive waves of dinosaurs. Exoprimal's main selling point is the sheer number of dinosaurs that it can fit on-screen at one time, but it remains to be seen if it all adds up to a worthwhile gaming experience. Capcom has been on a serious roll lately, though, so there's a chance Exoprimal could be a surprise hit.

In the meantime, there at least two other games Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to in July 2023, though they weren't part of this particular announcement. Day one games The Wandering Village and Venba are scheduled to hit Game Pass on July 20 and July 31, respectively, and they will likely be joined by some other, yet-to-be-announced titles in the second half of July 2023 as well.
