Microsoft has confirmed five games that are leaving the Xbox Game Pass subscription service on July 31. Whenever Microsoft announces the new batch of Xbox Game Pass games that are coming soon, it also includes mention of the games that are leaving the lineup as well.

Just recently, Microsoft announced the new Xbox Game Pass games coming in the second half of July 2023. This includes day one games Techtonica, which is available now in early access, and Venba, which is scheduled to join the service on July 31. Since July 31 is the last day of the month, it's also the last day that five games will be a part of the Xbox Game Pass library.

July 31 will be the last day that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play Dreamscaper, Expeditions: Rome, Marvel's Avengers, The Ascent, and Two Point Campus. Four of the five games are available on the cloud, Xbox consoles, and PC, so their removal will have a big impact. Expeditions: Rome is a PC Game Pass-only game, but it has strong reviews and subscribers to that service will likely be sad to see it removed from the lineup.

  • Two Point Campus (Cloud/Consoles/PC)

Another game Xbox Game Pass subscribers may be sad to see get removed from the service is Dreamscaper, an action roguelike game that earned mostly positive reviews. It definitely flew under the radar, so Xbox Game Pass subscribers should make sure to play it through their subscription while they still have the option to do so. Those who try Dreamscaper through Xbox Game Pass and want to keep playing it after it's removed will have the chance to purchase it at a 20% discount while it's still part of the Game Pass lineup.

In the meantime, Xbox Game Pass subscribers that enjoy co-op games may be bummed out about the removal of Marvel's Avengers and The Ascent. Marvel's Avengers failed as a live service game, but there are still some strong elements to it that make it worth playing for hardcore Marvel fans, especially if they have some friends to play with. The Ascent, meanwhile, is an isometric cyberpunk action-RPG that was once a day one Game Pass game, and while it earned mixed reviews, it's still a bummer to see it getting removed from the Game Pass lineup.

Two Point Campus was another day one Game Pass game back when it first joined the subscription service, though it was more warmly-received than The Ascent. Regardless, Xbox Game Pass subscribers should make it a point to try out all of these games at least a little bit to see if there's anything they want to keep for their digital libraries.
