Today is the last day for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to play five games that are currently part of the subscription service. The last day of every month is always a bittersweet time for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. While it means that the announcement for next month's new Xbox Game Pass games is right around the corner, it also means that some games will be removed from the lineup in short order.

Microsoft has yet to announce all the new Xbox Game Pass games for August 2023, but the announcement should come at some point later this week. Whenever it does happen, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will likely be clued in on some of the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in the first half of August 2023, while they will have to wait until later to learn about the games coming in the second half of the month.

There should be plenty of new games added to Xbox Game Pass soon, but there will also be some games leaving the service as well. Today, July 31, is the last day that Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to playDreamscaper, Expeditions: Rome, Marvel's Avengers, The Ascent, and Two Point Campus with their subscriptions. Most of these games were available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers across the cloud, consoles, and PC, though Expeditions: Rome was only available through PC Game Pass.

  • Dreamscaper (Cloud/Consoles/PC)
  • Expeditions: Rome (PC)
  • Marvel's Avengers (Cloud/Consoles/PC)
  • The Ascent (Cloud/Consoles/PC)
  • Two Point Campus (Cloud/Consoles/PC)

Out of these games, Dreamscaper has the highest reviews, so Game Pass subscribers may want to give it a try before it's yanked from the lineup. While Xbox Game Pass subscribers almost certainly won't have enough time to play Dreamscaper to completion before it's removed from the service, they can at least decide if they like it enough to buy it to keep. And now would be prime time to do so because Game Pass games are available at a 20% discount while they are part of the subscription service.

While Dreamscaper has the best reviews out of the five games leaving Xbox Game Pass today, Game Pass subscribers may also want to try out some of the other games that are on the chopping block. Marvel's Avengers earned mixed reviews and its live service plans have been shut down, but many have said that its campaign is solid for what it is, so it could be worth a look. The Ascent's co-op options could make it more worthwhile to those looking for a new co-op game to play, while Two Point Campus was well-received and praised as a worthy follow-up to Two Point Hospital.

On the bright side, July 31 isn't all doom and gloom for Xbox Game Pass. While five games are leaving the service today, subscribers are also being treated to new day one game Venba, available to play right now.
