The latest Nintendo Direct was surprisingly heavy with Xbox-related news, as it confirmed the release date for day one Xbox Game Pass game Another Crab's Treasure. Day one Xbox Game Pass games are typically announced well in advance, giving subscribers plenty of time to prepare for the new releases.
One day one Xbox Game Pass game that was confirmed to be coming to the subscription service a while ago is Another Crab's Treasure. For those unfamiliar with the game, Another Crab's Treasure is a Soulslike game where players play as a literal crab, developed by Aggro Crab. With players having to fight to survive against other sealife, Another Crab's Treasure has been turning heads thanks to its unique sense of humor and comedic approach to a genre filled with games that are typically deadly-serious.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Losing 2 Games on February 29
Despite continuously adding to the subscription service, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be losing two games at the end of the month.
The latest Nintendo Direct presentation confirmed that Another Crab's Treasure is releasing on April 25. At launch, Another Crab's Treasure will be available on Switch, PC, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Since Another Crab's Treasure was already confirmed as a day one Xbox Game Pass game, subscribers can look forward to playing it on April 25 without having to pay its typical $29.99 asking price.

Another Crab's Treasure isn't the only day one game confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in April 2024. While the full lineup will almost certainly feature more day one games, right now Xbox Game Pass subscribers also have Botany Manor (April 9), Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (April 23), and Manor Lords (April 26) to look forward to. More information on the Xbox Game Pass April 2024 games should come to light once the month itself rolls around.
Surprisingly, the release date reveal for day one Xbox Game Pass game Another Crab's Treasure wasn't the only Xbox-centric news that happened at the latest Nintendo Direct event. It was also confirmed during the show that some Xbox-published games will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Specifically, Xbox's Grounded and Pentiment are making their way to Nintendo's home console/handheld hybrid.
Not only that, but more Rare games are coming to Switch Online. Even though Xbox owns Rare, it has allowed the studio to bring some of its classic games to Nintendo's subscription service. An additional five Rare games are coming to Nintendo Switch Online with Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, Blast Corps, Killer Instinct, R.C. Pro-Am, and Snake Rattle 'n' Roll all joining the lineup later today.
