Microsoft used its Xbox Games Showcase event to confirm that racing game Forza Motorsport is launching on October 10 as a day one Xbox Game Pass game. Alongside Halo and Gears of War, Forza is one of Xbox's flagship franchises, split between two different kinds of racing game experiences.
The Forza Horizon games are open world racers with a more arcade focus, whereas the Forza Motorsport games are more serious racing simulation games. The next installment in the long-running series is the eighth under the Forza Motorsport banner, and now Xbox fans know exactly when they will get to play it for themselves.
As previously mentioned, Forza Motorsport is releasing October 10 as a day one Xbox Game Pass game. This means Game Pass subscribers across PC and Xbox Series X will get to play Forza Motorsport as much as they'd like on the day of its release without actually paying full price for the game. While racing games aren't for everybody, there's no denying that the Forza Motorsport franchise has been absolutely massive for Xbox, and so the new entry is definitely going to be one of the bigger Xbox Game Pass releases of the year. The fact that it's the first next-gen only Forza game is also notable, as it will not be held back by the Xbox One console generation in any way whatsoever.
