February 2022 has been a big month for Xbox Game Pass, with Microsoft regularly adding new games to the subscription service. Thursday, February 17 marks yet another big day for the Xbox Game Pass subscription program, as Microsoft has added two more games to the lineup. But while most Xbox Game Pass games are available through the vanilla version of the subscription service, the two games added on February 17 are only available to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

The two games added on February 17 are Madden NFL 22 and Total War: Warhammer 3, the latter of which is a day one game. Madden NFL 22 has been added to Xbox Game Pass through EA Play, itself only available to those who pay for the pricier Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription or who have PC Game Pass. Madden NFL 22 had some major technical problems at the time of its release, but Madden is consistently one of the biggest new game releases every year, so its addition to the lineup is still noteworthy.

Total War: Warhammer 3, meanwhile, has earned rave reviews from critics, with many hailing it as yet another great entry in the strategy game franchise. Total War: Warhammer 3 is a PC exclusive game, hence why it's only available through PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions. Regardless, it's one of the highest-rated games of 2022 so far, and so it's definitely a big "get" for Game Pass.

Madden NFL 22 and Total War: Warhammer 3 were supposed to be joined by the Xbox One version of Lawn Mowing Simulator, but that hasn't happened. Lawn Mowing Simulator was pulled from the Xbox Game Pass lineup until further notice, with no reason given for why it was removed. The bright side is those with an Xbox Series X or S console can play the next-gen version of Lawn Mowing Simulator through Game Pass if they so desire.

The rest of February will see more games that are primarily aimed at the PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate crowd instead of those that are subscribed to the vanilla version of the service. February 22 will see Roboquest release for PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate, whereas Galactic Civilizations 3 is joining the lineup on February 24. February 24 will also see the addition of Super Mega Baseball 3, which, like Madden NFL 22, is coming to Xbox Game Pass as part of EA Play.

And finally, Alice: Madness Returns hits PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on February 28, which will wrap up February. Microsoft has yet to pull the curtain back on the new Xbox Game Pass games coming in March, but more information on that front should come to light in the next couple of weeks or so.
