In a new post on the Xbox website, details on some improvements coming to Xbox Game Pass have been announced. Among a bevy of new games and additions, a great new feature for Xbox Game Pass on consoles was also announced.

Xbox Game Pass has been a huge win for Xbox, and it has been investing in it heavily with a steady stream of new games being added to the service and even bringing an additional huge library to PC. The program is such a great deal that it seems like a no-brainer for every Xbox player and a new update aims to make playing with friends that much easier.

An upcoming update will add a new section to the Xbox Game Pass section of the Xbox dashboard called Play with Friends. The section will list any players on a player's friends list that is also playing any of the multiplayer games part of Xbox Game Pass. From that menu, players will be able to select any of their friends' games and either jump right into their lobby or start downloading the game so that they can get ready to play with them later.

The update is slated for this month and continues Xbox's strong recent work to improve Xbox Game Pass. Not only has the library been bolstered with huge additions like nearly all of Bethesda Software's modern library and incorporating EA Play into both the console and PC version of Xbox Game Pass; the service has also seen some high-profile additions such as People Can Fly's Outriders launching on release as well as MLB The Show 21, which is especially impressive as it's a first-party PlayStation title. With so many great titles on the service, the new Play with Friends section seems like a great way for players to easily see what games on the service have caught their friend's interest.

With Xbox's aggressive moves to promote Xbox Game Pass as of late, such as their Xbox Game Pass ad campaign in Japan that recently launched, it is clear that the service is going to play an integral part in the console's identity moving forward. With the service expanding to PC and mobile through Xbox Cloud Gaming it is now accessible to more players than it has ever been, and with a running deal giving new players their first month for just $1, now is a great time to try out the Game Pass fad for any players who haven't pulled the trigger yet.
