The stop-motion narrative game Harold Halibut will be available on Xbox Game Pass on April 16. This latest announcement marks a pretty busy April for Xbox Game Pass, which already has nine confirmed games so far.

Harold Halibut is a distinctive narrative game about friendship that was first announced back in 2017 via a Kickstarter campaign. Set in a huge city inside a spaceship, the game follows Harold, a man on a quest to discover “the true meaning of home.” Harold Halibut was already confirmed for Game Pass before now, but it only had a release window, as its developers revealed last December that the title would be out early in 2024.

The number of March 2024 additions to Xbox Game Pass rises up to ten with the arrival of one of 2022's most underrated games.

Now, the eagerly awaited Harold Halibut finally gained an official release date, and it will arrive on April 16 as a day one release in Xbox Game Pass. According to the game’s creator, Slow Bros, Harold Halibut will be fully made using stop-motion, with physical 3D models that were scanned and used in the game. The experience will have full voice acting, an expansive character ensemble with quirky personalities, and is being described as a “riveting cinematic storyline,” appealing to gamers who like a mixture of drama, humor, and suspense.

The list includes the previously announced Botany Manor, as well as Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, Another Crab's Treasure, and Manor Lords. Overall, it’s fair to say that Xbox Game Pass is packed with releases of some high-profile games in 2024. Earlier this year, subscribers were able to play the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Palworld, Persona 3: Reload, Dead Island 2, Control, and more. The end of March will also mark the first Activision Blizzard game to hit Game Pass after the company’s acquisition last year. Diablo 4 will be added to Game Pass on March 28, allowing gamers who did not buy the title last year to participate in the game’s current Season 3, the Season of the Construct.
