Without a doubt, Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service has had an incredible few years, allowing players to discover games they might not have played otherwise. While the number of titles available to play can get dizzying, there's no limit to how many games a subscriber can download and try while the service is active. The service might be one of the best ways to find hidden gems, from critically acclaimed indie hits to groundbreaking AAA blockbusters and future classics. Game Pass subscribers should play Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Nobody Saves the World, as both games are slated to leave the platform on January 16th, 2023 to make way for expected 2023 game pass games.

While subscribers are likely to have a long list of titles that they want to try, games that are leaving the platform will have to be purchased and downloaded outside Xbox Game Pass, making it a worthwhile pursuit to give as many games as possible a shot. Both Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Nobody Saves the World are incredible games, providing unique gameplay loops paired with incredible art, storytelling, and more. Interested gamers should get playing, as these titles are short but packed with interesting elements to explore.

Why Mystery Lovers Should Try Danganronpa On Game Pass

Daganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc

The Danganronpa franchise has been around for years, dazzling visual novel adventure game fans with fascinating murder mysteries, intriguing twists and turns, and compelling characters. Gamers who are unfamiliar with the game series should try Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, the first game in the series, and the next game to leave Game Pass. The game was first released on the Playstation Vita and was an instant success, now having been ported to multiple platforms, and adapted into an anime television series, a stage show, Manga, and novels. The game's two sequels are also available on Game Pass as well, making the entire franchise easy to access for the time being.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc puts players in the shoes of Makoto Naegi, a school student who finds himself in the midst of a mutual killing spree committed by his classmates. The gameplay is similar to the iconic Ace Attorney franchise, vacillating between investigative work, court trials, and exploring Hopes Peak Academy from a first-person perspective. During the normal school day, players can connect with other students and progress the main story, emulating a dating sim structure. The delicious twist occurs when a crime scene is discovered, throwing the game into an interactive murder mystery and court drama on par with the best Nancy Drew games.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is now available on PC, PS4, PS Vita, Switch, and Xbox One.

Dungeon Crawl With Friends In Nobody Saves The World On Game Pass

Microsoft Game Pass is a great place to find and support indie games that are experimenting with genres in interesting and unique ways. Nobody Saves The World is a particularly compelling example of an action-role-playing dungeon crawler that is pushing the limits of what the genre can do. The game puts players in the shoes of a lovely character named "Nobody," a seemingly unremarkable protagonist equipped with a wand who lets them turn into eighteen different forms. There are few games on the market today that allow players to not only change form from magicians to robots and dragons during gameplay but require it as part of a winning strategy to beat the game.

Nobody Saves The World also uses procedurally generated environments, forcing players to adapt to the challenges found in each dungeon and Overworld location. The dungeons in Nobody are particularly reminiscent of dungeons found in The Legend of Zelda franchise, requiring players to demonstrate their knowledge and skill in order to advance through and claim rewards. Not only is Nobody Saves The World an excellent dungeon-crawler for solo players, but the game features a fully cooperative multiplayer mode, perfect for gamers who want to work together.

Nobody Saves the World is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
