Highlights

  • Xbox's Game Pass Core subscription provides access to a robust library of 36 games, including first-party titles like Halo 5 and Gears 5, as well as major Bethesda titles.
  • Two new games, Chivalry 2 and Totally Accurate Delivery Service, will be added to the Core library on December 6, further expanding the variety of games available.
  • Core subscribers can expect new game additions two or three times per year, and there is potential for future inclusion of Xbox's newer first-party titles and older Activision titles following its acquisition.

Two new games are set to be added to Xbox's new Game PassCore subscription next month on December 6. Since Xbox Live Gold met its end in September, Xbox began Game Pass Core in its stead as a way for former Gold members to continue having access to Xbox's online services for the same monthly cost.

In the age of Game Pass and subscription services, a vital part of Core's membership is the robust library of 36 games it offers its subscribers. Fittingly, this library is filled with many of Xbox's first-party games, such as Halo 5: Guardians, Gears 5, Psychonauts 2, and Grounded, as well as several major Bethesda titles like Dishonored 2, Doom Eternal, Fallout 4, and more. The list is also loaded with several highly praised third-party titles like Firewatch, Dead Cells, Inside, and Limbo.

Xbox Game Pass is Losing One of Its Best Games on December 15

Microsoft confirms that one of the highest-rated Xbox Game Pass games is leaving the subscription service on December 15.

Now, almost three months after the launch of Game Pass Core, Xbox has revealed two new games arriving on the service. Xbox announced that Chivalry 2 and Totally Accurate Delivery Service will both land in the Core library on December 6. Both of these titles further add to the breadth of variety Core's library offers with just 27 games. Chivalry 2 is an online first-person medieval combat game, while Totally Accurate Delivery Service is a lighter experience where up to four friends can get together in a silly sandbox world as they try to deliver packages.

New Games Coming to Xbox Game Pass Core On December 6:

  • Chivalry 2
  • Totally Accurate Delivery Service

As Xbox Game Pass Core is still very much in its infancy, it will certainly be interesting to see which games will be added to its library over the coming years. Perhaps more of Xbox's newer first-party titles like Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, Hi-Fi Rush, or Starfield could make a splash for Core subscribers down the road. As Xbox has just recently closed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it would be possible for some of those older Activision titles to find their way into the Core library at some point. While base Game Pass and Ultimate certainly have their share of major third party titles, such as the Dead Space remake, Like a Dragon Gaiden and Ishin, Lies of P, and more, it would also be nice to see Game Pass Core get a piece of that pie in the future as well.

Core subscribers can expect new games added to the library two or three times per year, so it may be another couple of months before Core members get another drop. It's possible these updates may come as part of Xbox's major yearly events such as its Summer Game Fest showcase or even a future Developer Direct stream, but this is yet to be seen.
