According to Microsoft, the library of the service will be updated only two or three times per year, unlike its main subscription service, which gets updates every month with at least a few new games entering the platform. Xbox Game Pass Core will cost $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year, which is essentially the same price that Xbox Live Gold had before. In comparison, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate currently costs $16.99 monthly after a recent price hike but offers hundreds of games.

Amid changes and new offerings, Microsoft continues to please gamers with its Game Pass service. Some would say Xbox Game Pass is entering a golden age with big day one games like Starfield. In this context, Xbox Game Pass Core is another offering that may give Microsoft an edge against the competition due to its low price and a good selection of titles.
