33 Immortals is a new game with a staggering 33-player co-op that's set to release for Xbox Game Pass on day one. Xbox Game Pass had a major presence at the recent Xbox Games Showcase event, with Microsoft confirming a number of major games coming to its subscription service on day one.
Many of the games shown at the Xbox Games Showcase are headed for Xbox Game Pass on day one, ranging from heavy hitters like Forza Motorsport and Starfield to smaller projects like Towerborne and Jusant. Some of the Xbox Game Pass games shown at the Xbox Games Showcase will have co-op support, including 33 Immortals, the new project from Spiritfarer studio Thunder Lotus Games.
Spiritfarer earned critical acclaim at the time of its release, so expectations are high for 33 Immortals. Set to launch in 2024, 33 Immortals offers 33-player co-op with matchmaking support that allows players to instantly team up with others and complete raids. 33 Immortals is a roguelike, so while it will likely come with a stiff difficulty, players should constantly feel like they're making progress as they acquire upgrades that in turn giving them a better chance of success in their next raid.
33 Immortals wasn't the only co-op Game Pass game shown at the Xbox Games Showcase. Towerborne is another one that Xbox Game Pass subscribers will want to keep an eye on. It's a stylish new co-ope fantasy beat 'em up game from Stoic Studio, the team behind well-received Banner Saga titles. Both Towerborne and 33 Immortals are coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2024 on PC and Xbox Series X, so there should be no shortage of co-op games to play on the service next year.
2024 is shaping up to be an absolutely massive year for Xbox Game Pass. Obsidian's long-awaited fantasy RPG Avowed is scheduled to hit Xbox Game Pass on day one next year, as is Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. But before Xbox Game Pass subscribers get too excited about the new games coming to the service in 2024, there are still games joining the lineup this year that they will want to keep an eye on.
Notably, Starfield launches on September 6, with Forza Motorsport hitting Game Pass on October 10. Both games should prove to be massive for Xbox Game Pass and stand as two of the biggest Xbox console exclusive releases of the year. They're just the tip of the iceberg, though, as there will be many other games added to the Xbox Game Pass lineup in the months ahead.
