Subscribers are getting a pair of exciting additions to the constantly changing Xbox Game Pass library of games: The Callisto Protocol and Isonzo. Every month, Xbox Game Pass removes and adds titles, many of them launching day one on the service. The offerings cover a range of genres and developers, from indie puzzlers to AAA first-person shooters.

One of the most anticipated games coming to Xbox Game Pass is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which will be available day one, on October 25. This release will mark the first time a Call of Duty title launches on Microsoft’s gaming subscription service day and date, a result of the company’s landmark acquisition of Activision Blizzard in October 2023. However, Black Ops 6 won’t be arriving for quite a while, giving gamers plenty of time to enjoy the plethora of other exciting additions to Game Pass in the meantime.

The Callisto Protocol gained quite a bit of hype leading up to its release, as its development was being led by Dead Space creator Glen Schofield. Considered a spiritual successor to that highly rated series, there were high expectations for The Callisto Protocol. While it didn’t hit it out of the park when it finally launched, due in large part to persistent performance issues, the game did gain a dedicated fan base and a few award nominations. For many players, the compelling story and setting, impressive graphics, and skillful balance of action and horror outweighed the game’s technical problems, which were promptly fixed in post-release patches.

After finishing up The Callisto Protocol, gamers still looking for some action can turn their attention to BlackMill Games’ highly rated Isonzo, a first-person shooter inspired by the battles of the same name that took place on the Italian front during World War I. Offering online multiplayer with up to 40 players on console and 48 on PC, this team-based shooter was released on multiple platforms in 2022. Isonzo features historically accurate weapons and uniforms, and is intended to somewhat realistically recreate the tension of battle. The different maps are based on actual battlefields, and teams must have a balance of offensive and defensive units to come out victorious.

Overall, the lineup of titles added to Xbox Game Pass in June has been particularly exciting for horror fans. Firework, an indie horror puzzle game with an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, was added on June 4. And after The Callisto Protocol, The Chinese Room’s Still Wakes the Deep will be joining the catalog on June 18. This first-person narrative adventure strands players on an oil rig in the middle of the North Sea when something horrific decides to come onboard.
