Highlights

  • LEGO 2K Drive is now available on Xbox Game Pass.
  • This release is limited to cloud and console users.
  • 9 more titles are already confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass later this month.

The Xbox Game Pass catalog has expanded to include LEGO 2K Drive. Unlike most additions to the popular subscription service, this Xbox Game Pass release comes with a catch in that it's skipping PC.

Q1 2024 has been an eventful period for Microsoft's subscribers, with Xbox Game Pass adding 41 new titles throughout the first three months of the year. That release momentum is still exhibiting no signs of slowing down, with LEGO 2K Drive being the third April 2024 addition to Xbox Game Pass in three days, after Ark: Survival Ascended and Superhot: Mind Control Delete already made their way to the service.

Best Open-World Games On Xbox Game Pass (June 2024)

Looking for an open-world adventure to crack into on Xbox Game Pass? These are the best open-world games currently available on Microsoft's service.

LEGO 2K Drive was originally released for consoles and PC in May 2023. Although many players and critics alike praised its picturesque open-world hubs and sheer amount of content, it still ended up debuting to mixed reviews, with its live-service elements and some mission repetitiveness being among the most common complaints among reviewers. Even so, the feature-packed nature of LEGO 2K Drive and its varied world design helped it develop a reputation as one of the most accessible open-world games of 2023. The LEGO setting also makes this arcade racer inherently suitable for all ages.

While new additions to Microsoft's subscription service are typically platform-inclusive, the Xbox Game Pass version of LEGO 2K Drive isn't available on PC. The only way for subscribers to access it on a desktop computer would be to play it via Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is exclusive to the Ultimate tier of Xbox Game Pass. The same limitation applied to NBA 2K24, another one of 2K's games that reached Microsoft's content catalog on March 11. It would hence appear that 2K may have some reservations about supporting PC Game Pass nowadays.

The next pair of Xbox Game Pass additions won't have such platform restrictions, with Microsoft confirming that its service will be adding both PC and console versions of Lil Gator Game and EA Sports PGA Tour on April 4. But as is customary for EA-published arrivals, EA Sports PGA Tour will only be available via the EA Play add-on, which is an exclusive perk of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.

Beyond that, the company's ever-expanding content catalog is scheduled to receive at least five new day-one releases before the end of the month, including Rabbit and Bear Studios' Kickstarter-funded RPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Another half a dozen games are leaving Xbox Game Pass on April 15, with the vast majority of those departures being horror titles. This month should still end up being a net positive for Microsoft's subscription service, even without accounting for the second wave of its monthly additions that's expected to be announced in mid-April 2024.
