Xbox may not have the same caliber of first-party exclusives that PlayStation and Nintendo have, but it does have Xbox Game Pass, a service that proves its worth time and time again. For just $10 a month, Xbox Game Pass subscribers gain access to hundreds of titles, ranging from day-one exclusives to exciting new Indies to backwards compatible Xbox 360 classics. And the best part about Game Pass, is that players receive new games at least twice every month.
Xbox Game Pass already has a stacked April 2023 line-up, with heavy hitters like Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Minecraft Legends arriving on the service during the month. On top of that, a few highly-anticipated Indie games are also heading to Xbox Game Pass in April 2023, including the intriguing Lovecraftian Metroidvania The Last Case of Benedict Fox, and the long-awaited Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly. But while this is already a great Xbox Game Pass list for April 2023, there are a few titles that would really put the cherry on top of an already excellent month.
Xbox Game Pass New Game for April 2023: Dead Island 2
One of the biggest releases of April 2023, Dead Island 2 would be an incredible pull for Xbox Game Pass, albeit also a very unlikely one. Dropping on April 21, Dead Island 2 is finally here after almost 10 years of waiting. While the previews have been pretty mixed, with outlets expressing their disappointment over the stricter linear design of the sequel but praising its intense action, Dead Island 2 is still set to be a pretty big game this April, and if there's one way to secure day-one players, it's putting the game on Xbox Game Pass.
Xbox Game Pass New Game for April 2023: Assassin's Creed Valhalla
A game that's been rumored for Xbox Game Pass for months now, it's about time that Assassin's Creed Valhalla came to Xbox Game Pass. With Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey already on Game Pass, it seems only right that Valhalla should join them. With Assassin's Creed Valhalla leaving PlayStation Plus' Extra tier back in December 2022, Xbox Game Pass has the perfect opportunity to snatch it up for its own subscribers, and the demand is clearly still there.
Xbox Game Pass New Game for April 2023: Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
One of the greatest Xbox Game Pass additions of 2023 so far has been Monster Hunter Rise back in January. A game originally released for the Nintendo Switch, Monster Hunter Rise offers the next evolution of the franchise, with plenty of new mechanics and tons of new monsters to fight. While the base game is already packed full of content, fans will be able to get even more bang for their buck when Monster Hunter Rise's large-scale DLC expansion Sunbreak releases for Xbox on April 28. Though it seems fairly unlikely to happen, it would be great to see this DLC expansion come to Xbox Game Pass in April 2023.
Xbox Game Pass New Game for April 2023: Disney Speedstorm
An April release that's likely to go under the radar for most gamers, Disney Speedstorm, the Disney and Pixar kart racer, is set to hit consoles on April 18. Much like Disney Dreamlight Valley before it, Disney Speedstorm will enter a lengthy early access phase first, where eager fans can jump in by dropping cash on a "founder's pack." And much like Disney Dreamlight Valley, Disney Speedstorm might benefit greatly from an Xbox Game Pass launch this April.
