Space Engineers Celebrates 5th Anniversary With Xbox Game Pass Debut

A day following its five-year release anniversary, the beloved sandbox game is now set to land on Xbox Game Pass in the coming hours. Space Engineers still hasn't reached Microsoft's subscription library as of this writing, circa 7am ET on February 29, but that's nothing out of the ordinary; although the platform often updates its catalog around midnight, there isn't really a set time for when new titles are added to Xbox Game Pass.

Space Engineers still hasn't been added to Xbox Game Pass as of 7am ET on February 29, but is scheduled to reach the service by the end of the day.

The impending arrival of Space Engineers will round out an incredibly strong month for Xbox Game Pass. Although Microsoft's subscribers have long been used to enjoying a fairly steady influx of releases, the company has managed to shift into an even higher gear since the turn of February, averaging 0.5 new Xbox Game Pass releases per day. Apart from Space Engineers and 13 other titles that reached the service over the past four weeks, February also saw turn-based strategy Inkulinati leave Microsoft's Game Preview program and get treated to a full-fledged launch.

Looking at the immediate future, the next confirmed XGP addition is scheduled for March 5, when Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun will be added to the platform's ever-growing content library. Four more Xbox Game Pass releases have been announced for March 2024, including Diablo 4. The popular ARPG will be the first Activision Blizzard title to reach the service since Microsoft acquired the company to the tune of $68.7 billion back in October.

The list of upcoming March additions to Xbox Game Pass also includes MLB The Show 24, the next installment in the well-known series of baseball sims. Despite being developed by PlayStation-owned San Diego Studio, MLB The Show 24 will be a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass, which was also true for its three immediate predecessors.
