Publisher Firestoke has revealed a new trailer for Moonloop Games' upcoming cozy ghost game Hauntii that confirms it as a day-one release for Xbox Game Pass in 2024. Alongside this, it has also confirmed its Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S release for launch, as it was previously only confirmed for PC.

For those curious about this game, it's worth noting that Hauntii currently has a Steam demo available. This demo is only available until Feb 12, so would-be players ought to act quickly. They can expect an experience that puts comfort and hand-painted aesthetics first and foremost, while balancing its cozy game mechanics with a certain degree of mystery. At its core, the game features puzzles and minimalist-style storytelling as players haunt nearby creatures, explore various environments, and collect pieces needed to put together Hauntii's past life.

Hauntii Interview: Developer Talks Unique Art Style, Twin Stick Shooters, and More

Game ZXC speaks with the developer of Hauntii about what inspired its distinctive art style, twin shooter mechanics, and more.

Spotted first by Pure Xbox, this Hauntii trailer is exciting because this is the type of experimental, indie game that excels on the service. With so many games demanding a player's time, it can sometimes be hard to justify a smaller experience, but Xbox Game Pass puts the spotlight on this style of indie.

When Will Hauntii Release on Xbox Game Pass?

  • It is slated for a PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S release in 2024. No exact date has been given yet.

Of course, this announcement comes without a confirmation of a release date, but fans can expect it sometime in 2024. In the meantime, there is a seriously stacked list of games coming to Xbox Game Pass throughout February 2024's second half, after opening with massive titles like Persona 3 Reload.

Xbox Game Pass: Every Game Confirmed for February 2024 So Far

  • Train Sim World 4 (Feb 7)
  • Madden 24 via EA Play (Feb 8)
  • Resident Evil 3 (Feb 13)
  • A Little To The Left (Feb 14)
  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (Feb 14)
  • PlateUp! (Feb 15)
  • Return to Grace (Feb 20)

Tales of Arise could also be coming to Xbox Game Pass, though there might be a snag. It was mentioned in the original Xbox Wire announcement of these games, but it was quickly removed and has gone unmentioned since. It may have been a bit premature and it might hit the service on a later date, or something else may have happened.

For now, fans just have to wait for games like Tales of Arise and Hauntii to hit the service, but that's not hard to do when so many games are coming.
