Generally speaking, Microsoft gives Xbox Live Gold subscribers a decent notice when it comes to the next batch of free Games with Gold games. However, Microsoft waited longer than usual to reveal the free Games with Gold games that Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to claim starting June 1. While the announcement has come later than expected, Microsoft has now revealed the four games that Xbox Live Gold subscribers can claim in June.
From June 1 to June 30, Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Xbox One and Xbox Series X can claim Aven Colony, a city management/strategy game that first released in 2017 to mixed reviews. Then from June 16 to July 15, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can check out Project Highrise: Architect's Edition.
On the Xbox 360 side of things, Xbox Live Gold subscribers have from June 1 to June 15 to snag Super Meat Boy, while Raskulls will be available from June 16 to June 30. Super Meat Boy is arguably the headliner of the group, as it has the highest reviews of any other game in the lineup and is generally considered one of the better Xbox Live Arcade games. Noted for its extreme level of difficulty and intense platforming, Super Meat Boy should be a solid addition to any Xbox gamer's digital games library that has yet to play it. Raskulls, meanwhile, is a mostly well-received action platformer in its own right, with an online multiplayer component thrown in for good measure.

It should be noted that Xbox Live Gold subscribers will also have one of the Xbox free Games with Gold games for May 2022 that they can claim for part of next month. Until June 15, point-and-click adventure game The Inner World - The Last Wind Monk will be up for grabs. And until June 1, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will still have time to snag Yoku's Island Express and Viva Pinata: Party Animals if they haven't done so already.
It remains to be seen how fans react to the Xbox free Games with Gold for June 2022, but it seems likely that it will be considered another disappointing month for the service. While Super Meat Boy and Raskulls have somewhat widespread appeal, Aven Colony and Project Highrise: Architect's Edition are both niche. It's been clear for some time that Microsoft isn't trying nearly as hard as it used to with the Xbox free Games with Gold program, but it will still be interesting to see what it has on offer throughout the summer months.
