Xbox will be hosting the 2024 Xbox Developer Direct on Thursday, January 18 at 12pm PT. Rumors have been circulating about Xbox hosting a new Developer Direct this month as a follow-up to last year's big event. Now that the rumors have been confirmed, it will be interesting to see what the big event has in store for Xbox gamers and maybe even those on other platforms.

Beyond the Xbox Developer Direct, there have also been consistent rumors that Xbox plans on making some of its big console exclusive games multi-platform. Specifically, multiplayer pirate game Sea of Thieves and music/rhythm action game Hi-Fi Rush have been thrown out there as potential Xbox games that could jump ship to PS5 or Nintendo Switch. If so, it's possible these announcements will come at the Xbox Developer Direct, but that remains to be seen. Xbox Game Pass Adds 2 Games Today

Microsoft updates its popular Xbox Game Pass subscription service to add two games for subscribers to try across PC and Xbox.

The Xbox Developer Direct will take place on Thursday, January 18 at 12pm PT and will feature updates on the Indiana Jones game from MachineGames, Obsidian Entertainment's Avowed, Oxide Games' Ara: History Untold, and Ninja Theory's Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. This will include a look at the new Elder Scrolls Online Chapter, with details on the new zone, story, features, and more that are on the way for the MMO in 2024.

Beyond what's been confirmed for January 18, it's also possible that fans will be treated to a new shadow drop game. One of the most exciting moments from last year's Xbox Developer Direct was Hi-Fi Rush being shadow dropped, and rumor has it that the same thing will happen this year, but with a new game from Double Fine. Fans should certainly keep their expectations in check, but they will definitely want to tune in to the Developer Direct on January 18 at 12pm PT just in case.
