In the depths of the world of Wytchwood, players will need to look for all manner of ingredients to mix a whole grimoire's worth of spells. One of the places Wytchwood players will end up first is the Forest, and inside the Forest, players will encounter the well.

The Well In Wytchwood

When players first leave the witch's home and head into the in-between where the fast-travel portals are located in Wytchwood, the only location they will be able to travel to will be the Forest. Inside this colorful place is a well. In order to travel into it, players will have to talk to the man standing by it, named the Well Wisher. This young man was planning to head into the well to dig up some coins, but he lost his nerve last minute. He gives his trowel to the witch.

Now players have access to the well. Inside, they will find tons of clay to help make jars in Wytchwood, shining stones, frogs, a locked treasure chest, and a gate that won't open. If player's hit the Witch's sight, the treasure chest will light up, but the door does not. There doesn't seem to be a way to interact with the door just yet. However, many have completed the game and have seen that the door is still not opened after the ending cutscene has rolled. There is obviously something inside as players can see the exti with their witch's sight.

How to Open the Secret Well Room in Wytchwood

According to the developers on the game's Discord channel, this area is not accessible to players yet. This secret hidden space (along with several other locations that seem to abruptly end on the maps) are all part of planned potential future updates. While this is frustrating to fans who want to explore the entirey of Wytchwood's rich, fairytale-like world and Animal Crossing-like crafting, it does seem to be a light at the end of a tunnel; the game has planned expansions that fans can look forward to.

It may be a while before players see these updates, though. The developers seem to be focusing on fixing any bugs for each of the platforms the game has launched on. But hopefully the future updates will open up new areas, more story, and even more spells and regents to make will all the odd little items the witch collects on her journey, from Pickpocket's Gloves to Gnome Hats.

Wytchwood is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
