A player created Sackboy from the LittleBigPlanet series in WWE 2K22, making him a playable wrestler. WWE 2K22's character creator is known for being incredibly versatile, letting players make their own custom wrestlers with a surprising degree of detail. The custom character creators in the WWE 2K games have famously been used comically by players while also helping to add to each game's roster of playable characters. While each entry has naturally had its own roster of wrestlers new and old, the introduction of custom characters opened the floodgates for creative fans. This was bolstered by the addition of custom arenas which has given fans the chance to create some truly whacky situations, such as a WWE 2K22 battle royal that featured characters from The Office fighting in a Dunder Mifflin arena.RELATED:WWE 2K23 Confirms 178 Wrestlers for RosterLeading characters from first-party PlayStation titles have proven to be popular choices for fans' custom wrestlers, such as one fan who put Kratos of the God of War series into WWE 2K22. Another fan who goes by Randarlo on Twitter upped the ante by making a wrestler based on Sackboy from the LittleBigPlanet series, complete with his own LittleBigPlanet-themed arena. Randarlo shared a clip of their custom fighter on Twitter and got a shoutout from the LittleBigPlanet Twitter account, which jokingly referenced Sackboy's appearance in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which also featured Kratos as a playable character.

Despite characters like Kratos enjoying considerably more time in the spotlight compared to Sackboy, the LittleBigPlanet franchise is still ongoing and has an active fanbase. The character of Sackboy has managed to maintain relevancy as a PlayStation mascot by appearing in games such as the PS5 launch title Sackboy: A Big Adventure and the mobile LittleBigPlanet spinoff Ultimate Sackboy which releases later this month.

There has been no shortage of fighting games in recent years, and some of the most prominent ones like Soul Caliber VI have featured character creators. In the case of WWE 2K22, the popularity of the character creator has somewhat superseded the rest of the game. This could be expected given how versatile the creator is and how it has been used to insert video game characters as custom wrestlers in WWE 2K22, making it look more like a crossover fighting game akin to Super Smash Bros. With how popular the character creator is, it will be interesting to see if the developers continue expanding on it in future entries and let fans go even wilder with their ideas.

WWE 2K22 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
