How to Perform a Catch Finisher in WWE 2K24

If you're looking to do a Catch Finisher on your opponent and bring your match to an exciting end, you can opt to perform the devastating move from an Irish Whip. This is readily available for a greater number of roster members, depending on their finishing move. These finishers are a bit faster as it involves your opponent running towards you, so you will need to be sharp with your reflexes. Here are the steps to performing the move:

  • Ensure your wrestler has a stored finishing move.
  • Press the Circle or B button at your opponent and hold the directional stick to direct them toward the ropes.
  • As the opponent comes back to you, press the L1 or LB button before the opponent is within grabbing reach to perform a lift.
  • As soon as your opponent has been lifted, press the R2 and Square or RT and X button straight after to complete the move and hit your opponent with a devastating Catch Finisher.

In this year's installment of WWE 2K, it appears that Catch Finishers can only be performed from an Irish Whip position, which differs from the Top Rope Catch Finishers you could perform in previous installments.

Which Wrestlers Can Perform Catch Finishers in WWE 2K24?

Catch finishers won't be available in the arsenal of every member of the WWE 2K24 roster, but there are a select few that will enable this move to be performed from an Irish Whip. You will generally be able to tell based on the position wrestlers generally need their opponent to be in to perform the move usually, but any superstars that perform finishers that involve a spear, choke hold, putting an opponent on their shoulders, or kicking the opponent, will be able to perform a catch finisher. Here is a list of superstars and legends who can perform them, although there are undoubtedly a few others that can do it:

  • Shawn Michaels
  • Randy Orton
  • The Undertaker
  • Kane
  • John Cena
  • The Rock
  • Roman Reigns

How to Check If A Wrestler Can Perform a Catch Finisher

Just as you would check if a wrestler can perform a Superplex from the top rope to break the ring, players can check if their superstar is eligible for Catch Finishers by checking their finishing moves from the Move-Set section, which you can find from the main menu. Under the "Finishers" section, you will find the wrestler's signature moves, finishers, and conditional finishers, such as a finisher to put an opponent through an announcer's table and, of course, Catch Finishers. If a wrestler is able to perform a Catch Finisher, it will be listed there, along with a video showing how to do it and the button input required to complete the action.
