There have been many a memorable moment in WWE's storied history, but few would forget one fateful episode of SmackDown in 2003 when the show would come to a shocking and dramatic end as the result of a collapsed ring and two behemoths lying in the center of the ring. In one of the greatest moments in the history of SmackDown, Brock Lesnar would hoist Big Show over his shoulders in an enormous Superplex, causing the ring to break and crumble, bringing the show to a chaotic and confusing conclusion.

Much like a number of previous installments in the series, WWE 2K24 will enable players and wrestling fans to relive the famous moments where superstars have destroyed the squared-circle by suplexing their huge opponent from the top rope. If a standard pin or submission is just not enough excitement to end a match, read on to find out how to break the ring in WWE 2K24.

WWE is back with a host of fan-favorite features and some new ones. Here are the new match types in WWE 2K24.

How to Break The Ring in WWE 2K24

In order to generate enough force in a slam to break the ring, players will need to get one of the heaviest members of the WWE 2K24 roster and suplex them from the top rope. In order to complete this action, you will need to fulfill two starting requirements before you can start planning the move:

  • A Super Heavyweight, who will be suplexed from the top rope.
  • A Heavyweight, who will be the one to suplex the Super Heavyweight. This superstar will need to have the Superplex assigned to their move set.

With the two eligible wrestlers selected, you will need to complete a few other objectives before you can break the ring. For starters, you won't be able to break the ring from the start of the match, as you'll need to cause damage to your Super Heavyweight opponent. Generally speaking, you should be able to perform the action once your opponent has a red damage indicator on their head or body, but it may also work with orange or even yellow. The safest bet is red damage, as whether you can break the ring with orange or yellow is generally randomly determined.

Once you have caused enough damage to your opponent, the next priority is getting them on the top rope to perform the move. In order to do this, you will need to do the following;

  • Irish Whip the wrestler into a corner, or grab and drag them to the corner.
  • Once in the corner, flick the right stick in an upward direction to sit your opponent on the top of the turnbuckle
  • Press either A or B (for Xbox) or Circle or X (for PlayStation) to prompt your wrestler to perform a superplex.

This should result in the ring breaking, but if it doesn't, you'll simply need to inflict some more damage on your foe and try again.

Who Can Break The Ring in WWE 2K24?

As mentioned above, you will need to suplex a wrestler off the top rope that is heavy enough to break the ring, which means you'll need a Super Heavyweight at the bare minimum, and even then there is no guarantee that it will work. To guarantee the dramatic finish of a ring breakage, ensure you have a Super Heavyweight that is on the heavier side of the weight class, as some of the lighter Super Heavyweights may not be able to damage the canvas. Some of the sure-fire ring-breakers in WWE 2K24 include the following superstars and legends:

  • Andre the Giant
  • Braun Strowman
  • Bronson Reed
  • Ivar
  • Omos
  • Otis
  • Rikishi
  • Umaga
  • Vader
  • Yokozuna

A wrestler being a Super Heavyweight does not automatically make them eligible for ring breakages as it appears to be determined moreso by the actual weight of the athlete rather than the weight class. Choosing the heaviest roster members like Yokozuna, Omos, or Andre the Giant are the safest options to guarantee that the ring will break.

WWE 2K24: MyRise Undisputed Vs Unleashed - What's the Difference?

WWE 2K24 is set to feature two in-depth story modes for wrestling fans to experience. Here's what you need to know about the differences between them.

In addition to having a superstar heavy enough to destroy the foundations of the ring, you'll also require someone strong enough to perform a Superplex on a Super Heavyweight. There are quite a few candidates, but the safest bet is selecting either one of the above or a well-established Heavyweight from the roster. While there are a significant number of options, here are a few notable wrestlers that can help break the ring.

  • Big E
  • Bobby Lashley
  • Bray Wyatt
  • Drew McIntyre
  • Gunther
  • John Cena
  • Kevin Owens
  • LA Knight
  • Randy Orton
  • Roman Reigns
  • Sheamus
  • Stone Cold Steve Austin
  • The Rock
  • The Undertaker
  • Triple H

This won't be possible for smaller wrestlers, as the wrestler performing the move needs to be able to realistically lift a Super Heavyweight over their head to perform a suplex from the top rope. Popular stars like Rey Mysterio, Ricochet or Kofi Kingston won't be able to suplex a superstar of that size to complete a ring breakage.

What Happens When You Break The Ring in WWE 2K24?

Naturally, breaking the ring makes it difficult for wrestlers to continue their match, as the very surface they perform on becomes a chaotic mess. Therefore, any instances where a ring breakage occurs will result in the attacking superstar winning the match by Knock Out (KO). It is worth noting that this will apply even when KO finishes are turned off, as you'll no longer be able to use the ring. So, no matter what, breaking the ring in WWE 2K24 will result in the wrestler who performed the suplex winning the match.
