WWE 2K24: How to Perform Catch Finishers

WWE superstars like Randy Orton have a reputation of performing shocking finishers out of nowhere. Here's how to perform a catch finisher in WWE 2K24.

How to Win a Casket Match in WWE 2K24

Some of The Undertaker's greatest rivalries, including the likes of CM Punk and Kane, involved a Casket Match. The objective of the match is simple - you need to put your opponent in the coffin and close the lid to pick up the victory. While this may sound like a very achievable goal in theory, it requires inflicting a significant amount of damage to your opponent to ensure they do not fight back when you attempt to place them in the casket.

Given the brutal nature of the Casket Match, the standard rules in place in a normal one-on-one match are disregarded, meaning there are no disqualifications, no count-outs, and you cannot win the match by pinfall or submission. This may benefit some players, as not being able to be pinned may buy some crucial time to survive an otherwise match-ending finishing move or sequence of events, especially if you're up against one of the highest-rated wrestlers in WWE 2K24.

How to Put Your Opponent in The Casket in WWE 2K24

There are two main ways you can place your opponent in the casket to begin a potential match-winning mini-game and close the lid. This can be done either from inside the ring itself, or by taking your opponent to the outside and dumping them in the coffin from there.

How to Put Your Opponent in The Casket From Inside The Ring

While you can venture outside the ring in a Casket Match, many players may still prefer the clearer camera angles and the use of turnbuckles and ropes that come with keeping the match inside the squared-circle. This will not deter you from being able to pick up the specialized form of victory, like in a ring breakage, as the coffin's door opens from the ring side, not the ramp side. To place your opponent in the casket and win the match, you will need to follow these steps:

  • Inflict a considerable amount of damage to your opponent - using weapons or performing a finisher will give you the best chance of winning.
  • Pick up your opponent with the right stick, grapple them with the Circle/B Button, and press the R1/RB button to initiate a carry.
  • Walk to the left side of the ring and, when prompted, press the Circle/B Button to toss them over the ropes. This will trigger a small scene where the opponent scrambles to the ropes, and you kick them into the casket.
  • Exit the ring next to the casket using R1/RB and you will be standing on the apron next to it.
  • Press the L1/LB button to begin the submission-style mini-game.
  • Press the indicated buttons rapidly to move the cursor in your favor and pick up the victory.

Once the casket lid is closed, the bell will sound and you will be awarded the victory.

How to Put Your Opponent in The Casket From Outside The Ring

As there are no count-outs or disqualifications in a Casket Match, players will have the opportunity to use the space outside the ring to inflict damage on their opponents, including the plethora of weapons you'll find under the ring. If you find your opponent vulnerable and weakened with the potential of being finished then and there, you can opt to put them in the casket from outside the ring and finish the match. You will need to perform the following actions to do so:

  • Inflict a significant amount of damage on your opponent.
  • Grapple a standing opponent with the Circle/B Button, or pick them up first with the right stick, and press R1/RB to pick them up for a carry.
  • Carry the opponent to the casket and press the Square/X Button when prompted to throw them in the casket.
  • Stand at the end of the casket and press the L1/LB button when indicated to trigger the mini-game.
  • Rapidly tap on the indicated buttons faster than your opponent to win the mini-game, close the casket, and win the match.

WWE 2K24: MyRise Undisputed Vs Unleashed - What's the Difference?

WWE 2K24 is set to feature two in-depth story modes for wrestling fans to experience. Here's what you need to know about the differences between them.

How to Use The Casket As a Weapon

In addition to being the winning objective in the match, players may also make use of the casket as a weapon to provide their adversaries with another source of pain. Given it is such a large object, it won't be something you can pick up and use as a weapon, but you can use alternative techniques to inflict further hurt.

There are two primary methods of hurting opponents with the coffin in a Casket Match:

  • By carrying or dragging them (using L1/LB after grappling) to the ramp side of the casket, and pressing the Square/X button to force the opponent to headbutt the casket.
  • By dragging them to the end of the casket when opened and pressing the indicated button to slam their head into it.

While this may not be as devastating to your fellow competitor as one of the many weapons under the ring, being able to interact with the Casket makes for a more realistic experience. Additionally, it's a great way of softening up your opponent right before going for the kill and winning the match.
