WWE 2K24: 7 Most Underrated Wrestlers

Whether it's because of their flashy moveset, their stunning entrance, or just the simple fact that they haven't been in a WWE 2K game for quite some time, there are plenty of reasons why fans are buzzed to finally have the chance to select these wrestlers. With that being said, here are some of the biggest superstars that players are looking most forward to trying when they eventually drop for WWE 2K24.

7 Pat McAfee

The Legendary Sports Commentator Pat Mcafee Is Finally Making His Long-Awaited Video Game Debut

Pat McAfee during his entrance
  • Release Date: July 24, 2024

Although beloved sports commentator Pat McAfee usually assumes the role of a commentator whenever he shows up at a wrestling arena, there have been a few occasions where he's proven that he's certainly no slouch when it comes to performing in the ring. The biggest example of this was during his intense feud with Adam Cole, where he would put up a decent fight against the wrestler at NX Takeover. Ever since, he's proven on numerous occasions that he certainly knows how to hold his own when stepping into the squared circle.

As a result, it'll be incredibly interesting to see how he actually plays once he's introduced to the WWE 2K24 roster, and more importantly, whether he'll have the big and bombastic entrance that he's become so well known for. Commentators stepping up to the ropes isn't exactly anything new in wrestling games, but given just how endlessly charismatic Pat is, it makes his video game debut a very special occasion.

6 Bubba Ray Dudley

Pitting Bubba Ray Up Against Some Of The Modern-Day Greats Is Going To Be A Sight To Behold

Bubba Ray Dudley
  • Release Date: May 15, 2024

As one-half of the eight-time World Tag Team Champions, Bubba Ray has certainly made his mark on the wrestling industry, becoming admired for his no-nonsense wrestling style and his involvement in a plethora of hardcore matches over the course of his extensive career. Bubba's first-ever game appearance was actually all the way back in 2000 with WWF SmackDown!, so needless to say, there are plenty of people who are thrilled that they will get to play as him once again, especially since it's more than likely that he'll have a pretty high overall rating.

Wrestling is a fan-favorite event, but some video games have featured the sport in some strange outings.

Of course, it wouldn't also be Bubba Ray Dudley without his iconic entrance and his wide arsenal of devastating moves, such as the Bubba Bomb and Bubber Cutter, which are all breathtaking to behold in action. It may have looked like Bubba Ray was removed from the 2K roster entirely after his last appearance in 2K17, but he's finally making his grand return where he will have the chance to duke it out with the best wrestling athletes of this day and age.

5 Post Malone

Post's Infectious Charisma And Rockstar Energy Make Him A Perfect Fit For The WWE 2K24 Roster

Post Malone in the Pokemon Virtual Concert
  • Release Date: June 26, 2024

The WWE 2K games have pretty much created a trend of including a brand-new celebrity character in each subsequent game, even if that person hasn't actually ever stepped foot in a wrestling ring before. This time around, they've opted for the wildly popular and lovable music artist, Post Malone, who will no doubt fit right in with the rest of the cast thanks to his infectious charisma and jovial personality.

In terms of in-ring capabilities, there's no doubt that Post will bring some of his explosive rockstar energy into the ring with him, and since he's never actually wrestled, it means that 2K can run wild with what he's able to pull off during an intense fight. Post Malone is clearly a huge gamer, having made appearances in games like Fortnite and Apex Legends, so it only seems fitting that he would eventually find his way into the next massive WWE 2K game, and fans couldn't be any more excited.

4 Dragon Lee

Dragon Lee's High-Risk / High-Reward Wrestling Style Will Be A Ton Of Fun To Try Out

Dragon Lee
  • September 20, 2024

Dragon Lee is without a doubt one of the most exciting superstars coming out of NXT, with his flashy luchador wrestling style and unique outfits making him truly eye-catching whenever he shows up for a match. With that being said, though, if Dragon Lee were already on the base roster, he would most probably be overshadowed by other higher-rated and similar luchadors, such as Santos Escobar and Rey Mysterio, so adding him in as a bonus expansion is a great way to encourage players to test him out.

His high-speed, high-risk version of Lucha Libre will be an absolute blast to test out in-game, as so will some of his riskier moves, such as his iconic Running Frankensteiner and the Dragon Driver. Additionally, these sorts of unique techniques will make Dragon Lee a joy to fight against since he's an absolute master at keeping a match exciting with his incredible athleticism and high-flying expertise.

3 Kairi Sane

  • Release Date: September 20. 2024

After being absent from the games since WWE 2K20 upon leaving the company, Kairi Sane is finally back after she re-joined WWE's ranks at 2023's PPV Crown Jewel. Kairi might be most well-known for being one-half of the Kabuki Warriors tag team, but she's also an incredibly formidable foe in solo matches, where she excels at using unorthodox attacks and techniques to catch her opponent off guard before finishing them off with her mighty Insane Elbow finishing move.

Though Kairi may have left WWE back in 2020, she's still managed to amass a huge international fanbase due to working in so many different companies throughout her career, so it's understandable why there are so many people who are eager to play as her in the game. Additionally, due to her involvement with the likes of Damage CTRL, it seems likely that Kairi's rating will be much higher than it was in 2K20, and it'll also be interesting to see how far 2K decides to emphasize her iconic pirate gimmick, which has become synonymous with her persona.

2 Jade Cargill

Jade's Flashy Presentation And Intimidating In-Ring Skills Could See Her Having A Pretty High Overall Rating

Jade Cargill
  • Release Date: September 20, 2024

Jade Cargill may be a pretty new addition to the WWE locker room, but she's already made quite an impression on fans and is shaping up to be one of the leading figures of the women's division for many years to come. Wrestling fans got to see their first glimpse of Jade as a playable wrestler in AEW: Fight Forever, but considering the staggering push that she's received from WWE, it's resulted in a plethora of online discussions concerning how strong she'll end up being in-game and whether she will be able to reach the heights of women like Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley.

Jade's size and physique mean that she will no doubt be an absolute powerhouse in the ring, but it'll also be a joy to see her flashy and luxurious entrance, which is another reason why so many people have already fallen in love with her. It's pretty much guaranteed that Jade's going to be one of the most-played wrestlers once she drops, and it'll be great to see her finally going toe to toe with some of the biggest names in the industry.

1 CM Punk

After Years Of Fan Mods And Character Creations, CM Punk Is Finally Returning To A WWE 2K Game

CM Punk
  • Release Date: May 15, 2024

The ever-controversial yet captivating CM Punk is one of the most fascinating wrestlers on the planet. Having been away from WWE for 10 whole years, he made a massively unexpected return at 2023's WarGames, meaning he'll be playable once again in a WWE 2K game for the first time in what feels like forever. Despite how long Punk's been away from the wrestling spotlight, his fanbase only seems to have grown bigger and bigger over the years, and even though he was once the poster boy for the franchise back in WWE 2K13, it feels as though he's once again being portrayed as one of the game's biggest names, being front and center on the game's Season Pass.

Seeing Punk's iconic entrance in a WWE 2K game after all this time will already be a sight to behold, but being able to pull off moves like the GTS in-game is something that longtime fans of the wrestler have dreamed of being able to do for many years. The fact that CM Punk was one of the most popular created characters in the previous games provides a good idea of just how wildly popular he is, so there's no doubt that once he arrives on the WWE 2K24 roster, he'll be making more than a few appearances in online matches.
