The Showcase Mode in WWE 2K23 focuses on the career of John Cena, giving fans a chance to relive 14 of the Superstar's most iconic matches. Unlike in previous years, however, this year's Showcase Mode chooses to showcase some of Cena's biggest losses rather than his greatest victories, helping to highlight the importance of his "Never Give Up" motto. Indeed, if fans persevere and complete all of the regular matches in ShowCase Mode, they'll unlock a special bonus match in which they get to choose Cena's next opponent.
Unlocked straight after defeating Cena with Randy Orton, Match 15 is called The Choice and is the first of three bonus matches in WWE 2K23's Showcase Mode. It ends up being one of the more unusual matches that the mode has to offer, with players being asked to choose Cena's next opponent from the ones faced up to this point. There are no rewards for completing Match 15, nor are there any objectives. In fact, players don't really have to do much of anything other than choose their Superstar.
How to Complete Match 15 in WWE 2K23's Showcase Mode
Upon beginning Match 15 in WWE 2K23's Showcase Mode, players will be asked to choose one of the 14 Superstars that they played as earlier on. There is an option to pick someone else, but this ends up being nothing more than a massive troll, with the game telling players that they must choose from the Superstars listed. The aim is to decide which of the wrestlers gave Cena his toughest test, though, in reality, it doesn't matter which Superstar players choose for Match 15 of Showcase Mode; not in the slightest.
After picking one of the 14 available wrestlers, players will be taken to an episode of RAW, on which, their chosen Superstar and John Cena will make their way out to the ring. Once the entrances are over, the match begins pretty swiftly, but before players can do anything, Cena will hit them with his iconic Attitude Adjustment Finisher and then go straight for the pin. Unlike with a regular pin, players won't be given a chance to kick out and Cena will secure a quick three-count to win the match.
On the next screen, players will be given the option to trigger a rematch by pressing the Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) button, but doing so will just lead to the exact same result. This is because Match 15 of Showcase Mode is unwinnable, meaning that the best thing to do here is to press X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox) to head to the next match. Match 16 of Showcase Mode somehow manages to be even more strange, though it does at least give players a chance to win.
