WWE 2K23 has a massive list of wrestling moves, attacks, and holds to perform. Players can not only tinker around and customize every aspect of their created superstar's move sets, but they can also change the moves of the official roster of wrestlers.
Players can get creative both in and out of the ring in WWE 2K23, and can inflict punishment on their opponents outside the ring, using the environment. Whether attacking with steel chairs or using the barricade, fans can create memorable wrestling moments. Here's how to pull off one of these moves.
Putting An Opponent Through The Barricade
Unlike the Ladder matches in WWE 2k23, putting an opponent through a barricade isn't performed by pressing specific buttons or attacks. It's about being in the right place at the right time. It's also worth mentioning that the barricade will only break when using the WWE arenas that have rounded corners. This is because the gap in the corner that separates the audience allows the wrestlers to fight in the crowd.
To put an opponent through the barricade, use the following steps:
- Players should use a wrestler that they are familiar with. This way, WWE 2K23 players will know which moves fall in specific directions. For example, a Fallaway Slam or an Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex will throw an opponent behind the player's character.
- Either turn off the referee count outs, or select an Extreme Rules match. Pulling off this move is tricky and temperamental, as getting the barricade to break can take several attempts. As such, when attempting it, it's better not to worry about a count out.
- Take the fight outside the ring and start fighting in the corner.
- Perform light and strong grapple attacks in the corner. This will weaken the barricade.
- Next, keep hitting the opponent with a strong move by pressing the Circle/B or X/A in the direction of the barricade. It will eventually break.
Using The Barricade As A Weapon In WWE 2K23
In addition to throwing an opponent through the barricade, players can perform a variety of devastating attacks to cause extra damage and look great in the highlight reel. Unlike the randomness of the barricade break, players have to perform a specific set of instructions to land them:
- Using the dragging mechanic, grab an opponent with the Circle/B button. Then press the L1/LB to move the opponent toward the barrier.
- A prompt for the Square/X button will appear to slam their head.
- If players ignore the prompt, their opponent will lean against the barricade.
- Press the Square/X or the X/A button to perform a barrier move.
Carry Into A Barricade Attack
As well as using the grab drag to utilize the barricade, players can also use the carry mechanic to perform attacks:
- Press the Circle/B button and then the R1/RB button for the carry position.
- Players can put the opponents in different carry positions by moving the R-Stick. However, this drains stamina, so don't overuse it.
- Carry the opponent toward the barricade, and with the prompt, the player can perform a brutal Seth Rollins-style powerbomb and more.
