WWE 2K23 is about to be released, and the new installment of the WWE and 2K Games' wrestling series promises big things for this year, starting with a roster that is detailed more as the weeks go by. However, one decision involving this roster has proven to be a head scratcher.

Both Xavier Woods' YouTube account, UpUpDownDown, and the official account of the video game have exclusively published some ratings that superstars will have in WWE 2K23. Among them are active wrestlers as well as some legends, and most of the rankings seem fair and in line with the years the respective superstars have had. That said, as with every year, some rankings have caused controversy in the WWE Universe, and certain choices involving two female superstars do not make any sense based on what happened in the last twelve months.

Becky Lynch Makes History In WWE 2K23

Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair

WWE 2K23 is just a few weeks away from hitting stores, and its creators are doing an excellent job of promoting it. The game has already announced its cover for this year, which will feature WWE legend John Cena. In addition, Visual Concepts has ventured to reveal some of the ratings that the wrestlers will have within the franchise's latest entry, and certain ones have generated quite a bit of controversy. As is always the case, the subjective nature of the ratings means that they are always subject to debate, but one of the most discussed decisions is that Becky Lynch will have a higher overall rating than Bianca Belair.

'Big Time Becks' Becky Lynch and 'The EST of WWE' Bianca Belair starred in a riveting rivalry in 2022 that is set to translate to the video game. Lynch has achieved one of the highest ratings in WWE 2K23, with a total of 96 points. She is the highest rated wrestler in the history of WWE games. Belair also scored an impressive total of 95 points, just one point shy of the top spot. What is surprising is how Lynch has achieved this incredible rating when Bianca Belair had a fantastic year in which she dominated every opponent she faced. She even faced 'Big Time Becks' herself, whom she defeated to be crowned RAW Women's Champion.

Bianca Belair's Spectacular Year

At Hell in a Cell, 'The EST of WWE' retained the championship by defeating Lynch and Asuka in a Triple Threat match, and again at Money in the Bank by defeating Carmella. Belair then successfully defended her title against Becky Lynch at SummerSlam, getting her revenge on Lynch for the defeat she suffered a year earlier at the same event, although after the match the two embraced as a sign of respect.

Then at Extreme Rules, Belair successfully retained the RAW Women's Championship against Bayley in an intense ladder match. As if that wasn't enough, also in 2022, Belair became the first African American person to spend more than 200 days as champion in company history. Later, at Crown Jewel, Belair once again faced Bayley for the RAW Women's Championship in a Last Woman Standing Match, which she won to successfully retain the championship. Finally, Belair kicked off 2023 with a title defense against Alexa Bliss.

It is true that Lynch is one of the most popular and recognized wrestlers of her generation, but she has not had the best year because of a shoulder injury she suffered that forced her to step away from the ring for a few months. Among the few highlights of her 2022, she made a triumphant return by winning the Survivor Series WarGames with Bianca Belair's team, but she has certainly not been the best wrestler of the year. With this in mind, it feels like Bianca Belair was more deserving of the 96 rating, even if Lynch is an incredibly popular superstar.

WWE 2K23 launches March 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
