The Hell in a Cell Match has become iconic for its brutality. The current PG era doesn't quite capture the extreme nature of matches like The Undertaker versus Mankind but thanks to WWE 2K22 fans are able to recreate these matches complete with death-defying stunts from insane heights and wild brawls on the roof of a 20-foot steel cage.
The Hell in a Cell Match is arguably the most fun match type in WWE 2K22. The Backstage Brawls seem to have tried to replicate the fun factor with its verticality but for now, the mode is boring and lacks the atmosphere of a Hell in Cell. It lacks any of the annoying mini-games associated with Cage Matches and Ladder Matches. This guide will focus on how to win the Hell in a Cell Match in WWE 2K22.
The Hell In a Cell Rules
- Entrants: Up to 6 Wrestlers
- Stipulation: No Disqualification
- Win Conditions: Pinfall or submission in the ring or on top of the cage.
- Weapons: Yes
Fighting In The Hell In A Cell
- The match will begin inside the Hell in a Cell cage so weaken the opponent as if it was a normal match.
- Until the cage is broken there is less room to move at ringside.
- Grab weapons from underneath the apron by pressing L1/LB and selecting the weapon of choice.
- If the opponent is weak enough take the fight to ringside and get the wrestlers to fight opposite the commentary desk.
- With enough slams, the cage wall will break, and the wrestlers can fight on the outside.
- They can reenter and leave the cage through the broken gap by pressing R1/RB when prompted.
- To climb the Hell in a Cell press R1/RB near the cage.
- The opponent should follow the player's wrestler to the top of the cage.
- With the wrestlers now fighting on top of the cage, there are multiple ways to cause massive damage.
- The wrestlers can slam each other on the cage roof until it breaks.
- When it breaks, one or both wrestlers may fall through the gap.
- Players can also throw their opponents from the top of the cage in multiple ways.
- Grab the opponent with the Circle/B button, then press L1/LB to walk them to the ledge and throw them off by pressing the Circle/B button and LS in the direction of the edge.
- Or the player can place them in a carry position by pressing Circle/B, them R1/RB to place them into a carry position.
- Walk the opponent to the edge and throw them off by pressing the X/A button.
- The player's wrestler can also hit the opponent with a special Hell in a Cell finisher when the opponent is standing dazed near the ledge.
- Wrestlers like The Undertaker or Kane will perform a Chokeslam from the top of the cage.
- If positioned correctly, the opponent will fall through the announcer's table Mankind-style.
- If all these attacks have been successfully executed, the opponent won't have much left before they can be finished in the ring or on top of the cage.
