After taking one year out to get its stuff together, the WWE 2K series recently made its triumphant return to the ring. WWE 2K22 improves on its predecessor in just about every measurable way and marks a real return to form for the long-running series. It may not be the best WWE game ever, but it's really not too far off and is easily the best-looking one to date.
This dramatic increase in quality will no doubt lead to more sales, which, in turn, means more new players. For those making their first foray into the world of WWE 2K games or longtime fans of the series looking for a refresher, this guide will cover everything that players need to know about WWE 2K22; from unlockable Superstars and arenas to DLC and user-generated content.

Getting Started in WWE 2K22
WWE 2K22 brings with it a few big gameplay changes. The majority of these are covered in the game's optional tutorial, while other, more situational changes tend to be explained on screen if and when players first encounter them. Despite the great effort that the developers have gone to though, both new and returning players may at times find themselves at a bit of a loose end when it comes to completing certain objectives.
This section of the guide will cover all of the basics, with a selection of how-to guides for some of the game's trickier tasks. Players can also expect to find answers to some of the more frequently asked questions here, as well as tips and tricks for both beginners and novice players. User Creations
Perhaps the biggest improvement in WWE 2K22 (aside from the improved stability and greater level of polish) comes in the form of its fantastic customization suite, which allows players to add just about anybody they'd like into the game as a custom Superstar. This can be used to fill any gaps in the game's roster or to add celebrities, superheroes, or sports stars to the roster of playable wrestlers.
As well as guides on how to download custom superstars and portraits, this section of the guide will showcase some of the best community creations in a bid to make it a little easier for players to find the perfect portrayals of the people that they're looking for. Whether that be missing wrestlers like Big Show or superheroes like Spider-Man, they'll all be featured here.

Game Modes & Match Types
Though the game's impressively large roster is perhaps its biggest asset, that's not to say that WWE 2K22 doesn't have other strengths. One of these comes through the game's many game modes and match types, with players able to sink tens, if not hundreds of hours into these varied and expansive modes.
In this section of the guide, players will find information regarding the Showcase, MyRise, MyGM, and MyFaction modes. This is also where information specific to certain match types can be found, including Royal Rumbles, Cage and Ladder matches, and any others that might require a little bit more explanation than the game initially provides.
