WWE 2K22 has reignited the rocky WWE 2K franchise and has opened the door for another emergence of the popular wrestling game. With a new game engine, returning game modes, and improvements to existing game modes, the latest installment in the series proves to be the game that fans wanted. The one area where WWE 2K22 promises to deliver more is the roster, which currently sits at around 170 superstars, much lower than WWE 2K20 or WWE 2K19.

As with previous games, numerous DLCs for WWE 2K22 have been announced and will add in 28 new playable superstars. From legends to newcomers, fans of the television show and older games will be glad to see some recognizable faces from the WWE Universe. Out of the 28 superstars, however, three are celebrities that have had a major impact in the WWE over the years. Machine Gun Kelly, who acted as Executive Soundtrack Producer for WWE 2K22 will be added in as a playable superstar, along with internet star turned boxer Logan Paul, and Mr. T, a person whose history with the WWE runs deep.

Machine Gun Kelly

wwe 2k22 mgk

MGK has been a prominent figure in the WWE television series in recent times, performing as a musical guest during several pay-per-view events including at WrestleMania 28 where he performed before John Cena entered. MGK also had a rivalry with Kevin Owens that was never taken to the extent the fans had hoped for.

Adding MGK to the list of incoming superstars to WWE 2K22 will let fans enjoy creating their own version of the Kevin Owens-MGK rivalry, or even have the artist enter the WrestleMania 28 main event and have him wrestle both John Cena and The Rock. Whatever the case, MGK has cemented himself into the WWE and his addition to the WWE 2K22 roster is only proof of that.

Logan Paul

Logan Paul Wrestlemania 38 WWE

WWE is no stranger to controversial figures with the likes of the entire McMahon family, and superstars like CM Punk. Outside the WWE, however, there has not been a person embedded within controversy as Logan Paul in recent years. The YouTuber has walked away from making viral videos and stepped into the boxing world, having numerous fights against other celebrities. He is now entering his first WWE 2K game as a playable character.

Logan Paul is already set to compete on the biggest stage in WWE, WrestleMania, where he will team up with The Miz to take on Rey and Dominik Mysterio. To secure himself as a WWE superstar, he needs to deliver a great performance for the higher-ups to accept him into the show’s roster. However, fans will be eager to see what he is capable of in WWE 2K22, no doubt pitting him against the cover superstar, Rey Mysterio.

Mr. T

Mr T Hall Of Fame WWE

The ever-popular actor and former WWE wrestler will make his return in WWE 2K22, promising fans an exciting opportunity to relive some of the most memorable matches from past years. Following his retirement in 1995, Mr. T has made numerous appearances in the WWE and has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

With a lot of focus on WCW in this year’s WWE 2K game, Mr. T’s addition into the DLC superstar list was no surprise. The possibilities for Mr. T in WWE 2K22 are endless, whether he is fighting against or with Hulk Hogan, being used to cause disruptions in the GM Mode, or saying his famous catchphrase in the MyRise mode, fans are going to enjoy playing as the hall-of-famer.

The new DLC content coming to WWE 2K22 will include many additions that promise to shake up the current roster. While the headliners of this DLC are legendary superstars such as Yokozuna and Rob Van Dam, the interesting additions are the celebrity superstars as they can create a new trend in WWE games in the future. All three celebrities could influence the addition of new celebrities like Johnny Knoxville or Bad Bunny in future DLC content or directly into future WWE games.

WWE 2K22 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
